Halle said, “As for that option, it was a no as well. People with thick skin always tested limits. If you did not draw clear lines, things would spiral.”
She wrapped it up, raised her glass, and tapped it against Ayla’s.
Ayla had just swallowed a sip when Halle asked, “So… you and Mr. Storm, were you in sync in bed yet?”
Ayla nearly sprayed her drink.
Halle leaned closer. “What was that look? You two still had not gone there?”
Ayla fired back, “And how was it with Mr. Reagen?”
Halle’s thoughts flickered through a few images. “Intense. Almost too much. That was probably why we matched.”
“And how did it feel?”
“Incredible. Honestly, none of my pretty boy exes could compare to his stamina. He was an older guy, sure, but he clearly knew how to keep himself in shape.” Halle caught the deliberate dodge, Ayla’s eyes glittering with curiosity. “Enough about me. You still had not answered. What about you and Mr. Storm?”
Ayla remembered how things had been interrupted last time. “It still had not happened.”
“You’re kidding. Are you two keeping it completely platonic?!”
Ayla shook her head. “No. What happened with Troy messed me up badly. Mr. Storm was… well… I just did not really dare yet.”
“Troy really was trash, huh? Was something wrong with him? Could not even treat you right?” Halle had never had a good impression of Troy. “Forget him. He was not worth killing the vibe.” Her tone turned teasing. “But you could not avoid it forever, right? Once that part clicked, it would bring you and Mr. Storm closer.”
“We almost did,” Ayla said, her cheeks warming. “But then my period came.”
Halle burst out laughing. “Mr. Storm must have been suffering!”
Ayla laughed as well. “LugiX was upgrading R&D, and both of us had business trips coming up. By the time my period ended, we probably would not have time. So I planned it for his birthday. Early next month, November third.”
Halle said, “That’s perfect. Super romantic.”
Ayla asked, “What should I prepare?”
“Get a sexy lingerie set and wear it. Any guy would understand immediately.” Halle added, “If you are nervous, just tell him to slow down and treat you gently. Wait until your body is ready. It would not hurt too much. Trust me. And you said Mr. Storm is pretty impressive, so the experience should be good.”

Ayla’s sleepwear had always been simple and plain. She had never worn anything seductive, and it did not really suit her style. Still, she had to admit Halle’s suggestion made sense.
Sexy sleepwear really did add flavor.
Halle suddenly thought of something. “Ayla, do not forget Mr. Storm is also your fan, right? Bria already knew you were Sol, but Mr. Storm still don’t.”
Of course Ayla remembered. At the racetrack that day, she had run into Draven on his first day back in the country and overheard him mention it.
Ayla said, “He rode in a car I drove. Once the speed picked up a bit, he looked uncomfortable. So why did Mr. Storm love racing so much?”
“Simple. Ask him yourself.”
Ayla nodded. “I’ll tell him tonight.”
“You two are really fortunate,” Halle said, seeing how well Ayla was doing. “After the divorce decree, you completely lit up. Being with Mr. Storm is just a bonus on top of that.”
Ayla smiled. “Thinking of dating someone yourself?”
“Honestly? With work being so intense, having a sweet, obedient college guy waiting at home to dote on me sounded nice. I would keep an eye out.”
Ayla said, “Time management queen.”
“Right back at you,” Halle replied. “And it might finally make Mr. Reagen accept reality and stop clinging to
me.”
“Mm. That makes sense.” Ayla and Mr. Reagen were close friends. If he and Halle ended up together, she would genuinely be happy for them.
But only if Halle wanted it. If her best friend was not interested, then no amount of persuasion would work.
They had not drunk much, but it was still better not to drive.
Ayla booked a valet driver and sent Halle home first.
“Why don’t you ask Mr. Storm to pick you up?”
