Chapter 521 Daring

Ayla did not dare make a sound. She finished the cup and held it up to show him it was empty. “Satisfied now?”
Draven looked at her and let out a quiet sigh. “You really cannot let yourself relax even for a moment.”
“I am not that weak… “Ayla muttered.
Draven leaned down and kissed her in warning. “Do not do it again.”
The CEO’s tone carried absolute authority. Ayla did not dare argue. She promised she would not repeat it, then asked, “What were you busy with earlier?”
Draven studied her for a long moment. “I was preparing another place. One of the units in our complex, a little over seven hundred square meters. After the renovation, if you want, we can move there.”
In truth, he had been arranging their future marital home.
There was also a villa with beautiful gardens, meant for rest when life became exhausting.
Westhaven also made commuting easier.
There would be more space as well. One room would be dedicated to displaying the ocean photographs he had taken.
“It will be done based on your preferences,” Draven said as he watched her. “I planned to tell you tonight.”
Ayla blinked. “Between our two places, we already have nearly seven hundred square meters. Why buy another one?”
“For what comes next. Your study and mine will both be spacious.” Draven still sometimes went next door to work.
Ayla fluttered her lashes. Living here was already convenient. “What comes next” sounded very much like a shared future.
He had hinted once before, but she had not responded. Now he did not say it outright either, yet the meaning lingered clearly.
It was daring and a little heavy.
Ayla chose to ignore it. “It is your property. As long as you like it.”
“We live together,” Draven replied. “Of course I think about your preferences. There are several design options. I will send them to you. Pick one and tell me what you want changed so I can adjust it. Do not worry about the trouble. Once it is finished, it will be comfortable.”
He did not give her room to object. His hand cupped her face and brushed her cheek gently. “You drank tonight. Go rest. I will come keep you company after I shower.”
Ayla wanted to say more, but the moment had passed.

She changed into her sleepwear and did not fall asleep immediately. She sat on the couch at the foot of the bed and quickly dealt with some work on her phone.
Bria had sent a flood of birthday photos and videos. With a professional styling team and photographers, everything looked stunning.
She had inherited her father’s flawless features, and paired with her fearless confidence, she was dazzling.
“Looks great, right? I throw the best birthday parties. I will plan yours next time, okay?”
Ayla replied, “No need.”
“Hey, you are still awake? Or are you a night owl like me?”
“About to sleep.”
“Alright, alright. I will stop bothering you. Early sleep, early rise. Strong body, strong heart, strong hands.”
Ayla was speechless.
She could not stand it and sent a meme of a subway passenger staring blankly at their phone.
“Behave yourself, Bria.”
“Got it. I will try. Muach.”
“What is that expression?” Draven asked as he approached, fresh from the shower.
Ayla handed him her phone. “Your sister.”
Draven glanced at the screen.
He returned the phone. “What about her?”
It had been Bria’s birthday, but she was intimidated by him. To avoid ruining her mood, he had kept his distance.
“Your sister is … unconventional.”
Ayla had seen that side of Bria today. If she disliked someone, she could erase them completely and strike without hesitation.
But once she liked someone, she gave everything, lighting up their world. The problem was that she went too far. When her time or energy ran out, that affection faded just as quickly. It was hard to tell whether it was love or something harsher.
“She’s really into racing. You know that, right?”
“I do.”
Ayla shifted the topic. “Then why do you like it?”

Chapter 521 Daring
When emotional needs went unmet, people reached outward for something to fill the gap.
Draven appeared calm now, but he admitted he valued freedom. It was instinctive, almost animal.
He met Ayla’s gaze and answered, “Back when I wanted to escape reality, speed became my wind. Wherever I wanted to go, it carried me there.”

After a pause, he added, “And speed and passion are naturally tempting. When it clicks, one glance is enough. There does not have to be a reason.”
Everyone had moments when they wanted to flee from routine. His answer sounded almost poetic.
Ayla smiled and raised a brow. “Family bonds are strange. Bria fell for racing for nearly the same reason. The instant she heard that engine, she was hooked. She did not need anything else.”
Bria’s pride mirrored Troy’s.
And her craving for speed and intensity was exactly like Draven’s.
