Chapter 525 The Perfect Plan
Just thinking about it made Ayla’s heart race.

The last time, things had stopped because the moment felt right, one kiss naturally leading to the next until they pulled back.
But today was deliberate. She was the one setting this into motion.
Tonight, with everyone gathered to celebrate against the ocean backdrop, there would be drinks. As the birthday boy, Draven would partake. He wouldn’t drink to the point of blacking out, but there would be a definite buzz.
Their first time together had to be clear–headed, free from the influence of alcohol.
She already carried shadows from the past. If her first experience with Draven wasn’t something beautiful, she feared she might have to truly close that part of herself off forever.
Besides, she had decided it would be today. She refused to let it bleed over into the day after his birthday, a bitter echo of how things had been with Troy.
So, tonight was out.
The afternoon wasn’t an option either.
She needed to discuss the menu with the chef, arrange the birthday setup. She could’ve delegated everything, but she wanted to do it herself.
That left only one option.
The morning?
As in, right after waking up?
Her heart rate skyrocketed, leaving even the adrenaline of taking a sharp turn on the racetrack in the dust.
What time was it?
She glanced at the clock.
Seven.
They’d gone to bed late, but they’d woken up early.
Suddenly, time felt terrifyingly tight.
“Why are you up so early?” Draven’s low voice, still husky and lazy with sleep, murmured by her ear:
Ayla’s entire body went rigid.
Sensing it, Draven was instantly alert. He propped himself up on an elbow, concern clear in his eyes. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”

They’d been so exhausted the night before he’d fallen asleep shirtless.
At nearly six–foot–three, his frame was naturally broad.
Wide shoulders tapered to a narrow waist, every plane of muscle defined with latent power. As he turned to look at her, the shift accentuated the lean lines of his torso.
From Ayla’s vantage point, it was a feast for the eyes, a vision of raw, breathtaking sensuality.
A warm hand pressed against her forehead. “You’re burning up. Do you have a fever?”
He leaned in closer for a better look.
Ayla swatted his hand away. “It’s just… the heat. It’s too warm in here.”
She sat up too, forcing her voice to sound normal. “Why don’t you shower first? I’ll be fine in a minute.”
“Are you sure?” His concern was genuine and unguarded.
Fair enough. It would never cross his mind that she’d orchestrate this for the morning. His mind was probably filled with nothing but wholesome, orderly thoughts. Unlike me, she thought.
“I’m sure. It’s practically winter in Trensea, but it’s so warm here.” She gave him a gentle push. “Go on. Make sure you get nice and clean. It is your birthday, after all.”
Though they’d only slept for three hours, Ayla didn’t look unwell. Reassured, Draven headed for the bathroom.
The moment she heard the shower start, Ayla sprang out of bed. She rummaged in the corner of her suitcase and retrieved the carefully packed nightgown… and the box of condoms she’d bought in advance.
She remembered the feel of his hand back then and just went straight for the largest size.
She placed the box inside the bedside drawer.
Then she tucked the backless black nightgown beneath a folded bath towel.
It wasn’t revealing, but it was a style she’d never worn before.
If Draven saw it, he’d know exactly what she intended.
She wouldn’t have to make a clumsy move. Things would unfold naturally from there
But… in the morning?
The very thought sent a fresh wave of searing embarrassment through her.
Taking a deep breath, she decided to give herself one last moment to steady her nerves. She walked over and pulled open the heavy blackout curtains.
One moment, she was adjusted to the dimness.

The next, she was nearly blinded by the brilliant, cloudless sunlight. She squeezed her eyes shut.
When she opened them again, the world outside took her breath away.
An endless expanse of cerulean sky met a stretch of pristine white sand, which surrendered to the frothy whitecaps of rolling waves in the distance. Colorful umbrellas and loungers dotted the beach, framed by lush greenery and stately palm trees.
It was a perfect day.
The view was stunning.
She stood there for only a moment before Draven emerged from the bathroom, wrapped in a cloud of
steam.
She spun around instantly.
With a move as furtive as a thief’s, she yanked the curtains shut again.
There was absolutely no reason to.
What am I even doing?
With the curtains closed, the room sank back into a soft, intimate dimness, just enough light to see each other’s faces clearly. It was perfect.
