Since Ayla had made up her mind, she was going to follow the plan exactly.

She washed away the sweat caused by nerves and excitement. After drying off with a towel, her skin felt fresh and clean. She felt light and relaxed.

There was a mirror in the bathroom.

Ayla stood in front of it, wearing the black nightgown she had carefully picked out.

It was the first time she had worn it, and it fit her perfectly.

She turned sideways and brushed her hair to one side. The deep V–shaped back opened from her neck and shoulders all the way down toward her lower back. A thin black strap rested across her shoulder blades. It looked beautiful.

Ayla was very satisfied.

“Ayla, are you ready?”

Draven’s voice came from outside.

She subconsciously grabbed the doorknob and looked down at her feet. “Y–Yeah, I’m ready!”

“What’s wrong?”

Her voice sounded tense, and Draven worried something had happened.

“Oh, there’s a mosquito. It’s fine. Wait for me. I’ll be right out,” Ayla said.

“Okay.”

Ayla slowly let out a breath. She checked herself in the mirror two more times. Everything looked fine.

She sprayed a little perfume on her hair. The scent was light and not overwhelming.

Ayla stared at the doorknob, took a deep breath, and finally opened the door.

Draven was about to close the curtains. A narrow gap was left open, and sunlight rushed through, landing right on Ayla.

The rest of the room was dim. Only Ayla stood in the light.

She wore a long black gown. Under the mix of black fabric and golden sunlight, she almost looked ethereal.

Draven heard the door and turned around. When he saw her, he froze. His eyes darkened, becoming deep and intense.

When Ayla met his gaze, her heart started racing.

They stared at each other for several seconds. Ayla stood in front of him, unable to speak.

But she stuck to her plan. Maybe a man should take the lead for things like this.

A few seconds later, Draven snapped back to reality. He quickly let the curtains fall and walked toward Ayla, looking down at her.

She could barely handle his gaze and looked away slightly.

The next second, his fingers touched her face. His thumb gently pressed her cheek, then moved slowly to the corner of her lips, brushing back and forth in a suggestive way.

Warmth spread from his palm, heating her skin.

“So… this is why,” he said softly.

Ayla glared at him. “Hey, talk normally.”

Draven let out a low, pleasant laugh. Then he pulled her closer, his hand sliding across her back, touching smooth skin.

He didn’t know about the design on her back, so he paused for a moment.

Ayla clearly felt his gaze change again.

Darker. Deeper.

His hand slowly slid downward.

Ayla got goosebumps. She wanted to say something, but he pulled her into his arms. His hands wrapped tightly around her waist. It felt so strong, like he could snap her in half.

“Ah!” Ayla let out a small cry. “Mr. Storm, you’re hugging too tight.”

Draven loosened his grip a little but still held her close.

He wasn’t as aggressive as she expected.

It felt like he just wanted to hold her like this for a while.
