Chapter 539 Poisoned Love
Who could love someone the way Troy did and make it look this terrifying?
His love wasn’t gentle. It wasn’t warm. It was cold. It hurt.
Troy’s love was like poison. Dirty. Ugly. Cruel.
And that love drove Ayla away.
Finist
Troy personally pushed away the woman who loved him without conditions. The woman who accepted every part of him.
Only after Ayla left did he slowly understand what he had done.
If this was a punishment for him, wasn’t it too cruel?
Was he really such a terrible, unforgivable person?
Why did fate have to treat him like this?
Was everything his fault?
Since the day he was born, it felt like he carried a curse. He was obsessive, dark, and intense. He picked up too many bad habits. People avoided him like he was a plague. Being hated. Being ignored. Being humiliated. That was the real Troy. He wasn’t a member of a prominent family. Not someone with great status. Not his wealth. Deep down, he believed he was just a dirty, insecure stray dog. No one would ever love him. That was his destiny.
If he was going to rot, he might as well fall all the way.
Troy covered his face. Tears kept slipping through his fingers. He was crying, but he was also laughing uncontrollably, like he was losing his mind.
Max had never seen Troy like this before. There was no more satisfaction in seeing him suffer. Only a strange sadness and worry.
Isabella’s eyes were already red. She couldn’t bear to keep watching.
After a long time, Troy finally seemed calmer. “Let’s go,” he said.
“Go where?” Max asked.
Troy looked toward the beach. “To find Ayla.”
“Troy, you-”
“Say one more word and get out,” Troy snapped. His eyes flashed like lightning.
Max’s face darkened. He stopped trying to persuade him.
He simply let out a cold laugh. “Be careful. This could turn into a disaster.

Finished
The cruise headed toward the private beach.
“Max, my life has been out of control for a long time.” Troy stared at the dark, restless ocean. “Since the moment I was born.”
He had always been losing. Always ruining everything. Because no one could be stupid enough to push away the person they love, right? But Troy could be that stupid. He lost control. He hurt people. The people he loved most. It was hopeless.
To love someone the way he did, it was almost like being an animal.
So it was normal that no one liked him.
Max didn’t want to see Troy like this. His face only grew darker.
Ayla and Draven stood with their backs to the ocean. The night wind was strong, and there was no light on the water. No one cared to look at the sea. Not until Troy, Max, and Isabella stepped onto the beach.
Shawn was the first to notice them. He looked surprised. Then he glanced at Draven with suspicion. “It’s your birthday, and you invited your brother too? I thought you two hated each other.”
Herman and the others standing beside Shawn also saw Troy.
Draven paused, then looked at Shawn. He followed Shawn’s line of sight and turned around.
Troy was walking toward them from the beach. His eyes never left Ayla.
The warmth that had just softened Draven’s eyes disappeared. In the shadows, his gaze turned ice–cold and frightening.
Without thinking, he looked at Ayla.
The moment Shawn said the word “brother,” the warm mood shattered. Ayla’s heart jumped, and she turned around immediately.
She hadn’t seen Troy for a long time. Even from about 150 feet away, she could see him clearly.
She didn’t expect him to look this terrible. His eyes were red, like sand had blown into them. His shirt was wrinkled. His face was pale, with no color at all.
Troy cared a lot about his image. Even more in front of people he didn’t get along with. If he came here to start trouble, why would he show up looking like this?
It didn’t make sense.
But she didn’t have time to think about it.
When Ayla looked at Troy, he was already looking at her. Their eyes met. Ayla froze. It felt like her breath got stuck in her chest. She couldn’t breathe in or out.
That wasn’t sand in his eyes.
