Chapter 546 A Decision Make
Ayla let out a small gasp. The next second, she fell straight into Draven’s arms.
“Your arm–be careful. You’ll tear the wound open.” Ayla looked nervous as she checked his injured right
arm.
The muscles in his arm tightened as he held her weight.
But Draven didn’t move at all.
“You can’t do this. Put me down,” Ayla said, trying to pull away.
Draven held her even tighter. “Right now, I really want to hold you.”
Even though he had his own faults, Ayla was the one apologizing.
The more she talked, the more guilty he felt.
Hearing his deep, gentle voice, Ayla’s heart softened. She could feel how serious he was. “Did what I said move you?”
Draven gave a quiet, “Yeah, I was genuinely moved.”
“I meant every word.”
“I know,” Draven said softly. “Thank you.”
Ayla was startled. “Why are you thanking me? I’m the one who didn’t tell you before. You’re my boyfriend. Of course I care about how you feel. Just like you care about me.”
Not just in daily life.
Even in private moments, he always took care of her feelings.
Draven’s
eyes flickered. There was a struggle deep inside them, but he still spoke. His voice shook slightly. “Ayla, I already know about you meeting with Troy. Both times.”
Ayla’s expression changed. “You knew?”
Draven’s whole body tensed.
Is she about to hate me?
His face looked calm, but inside he felt like he was facing a huge threat. His heart was pounding in his
throat.
“Then why didn’t you tell me?” Ayla asked.
She paused, thinking. “Were you waiting for me to say it first?”
“I don’t know, maybe,” Draven admitted.

Ayla suddenly wondered if Draven was being too careful.
Why had she only noticed it now?
“You should’ve told me directly. I didn’t say anything because I was worried you’d get mad. And I didn’t want to talk about Troy, so I kept quiet. Does that mean you’ve been waiting for me this whole time? That must’ve been exhausting.”
She reached up and tapped his temple with one finger. “You keep too many things in your head. That’s tiring.”
Draven looked at her for a long moment. “Thank you.”
“Why are you thanking me again?”
“Because you’re too good.” … And I’m not good enough.
Draven suddenly figured something out. When he was a kid, he acted like the perfect, well–behaved grandson just to earn his grandfather’s love. Now, if he had to work hard to earn Ayla’s love, he could become the kind of man she liked too. Even if he had to pretend for the rest of his life, he could do it.
Compared to the fear of her seeing the worst side of him, Draven was more afraid of Ayla leaving him.
When he was with her, he always felt warm. His mood naturally got better.
The more time they spent together, the deeper he fell for her, until he couldn’t pull himself back.
Since he couldn’t accept losing her, he would just keep his secrets hidden.
In the end, he only had one goal. To stay with Ayla. Always.
Once Draven knew what he wanted, he would go after it. He had always been like that.
He used to secretly take revenge on Jeremy. His methods were dark and extreme. But he still reached his goal, didn’t he?
He could spend his whole life making Ayla happy.
Maybe that was exactly what he was meant to do.
When Draven praised her, Ayla felt very happy. When she was alone, she was sharp and guarded. But when she was with him, she lost her edges. At the beginning, she never thought she would act cute or spoiled around anyone.
Now she was getting better at it.
Sometimes, when she thought about it later, she felt embarrassed.
If they weren’t outside right now, she might be all over him.
But she was still worried about his arm. “Put me down.”
