Jom: No More Homemaker for Him
Chapter 631 Boundaries

Eric felt the most guilt toward Draven. Among all his children, Draven was the one he was most indebted to. Now, there was no way for him to get close to that son again.
“If you need anything” Eric said to Ayla, “just tell Troy. Don’t worry about troubling him.”
“Of course,” Ayla answered calmly.
If Troy ever acted irresponsibly, or if he passed any bad habits on to the twins, Ayla had no problem kicking him out of their lives. A mother protects her children. Ayla had both the strength and the ability to
do that.
Everything she did was for the twins.
Before Martin left, he mentioned that when the babies turned one month old, he would hold a party. They would share the happy news with friends and relatives.
The twins were born into wealth. People often said children like them were born with a diamond spoon in their mouths. Naturally, many people would send their blessings.
There was nothing wrong with that.
At first, Troy planned to keep the children in the villa where he and Ayla had lived during their marriage. But Ayla refused, so they had to arrange another place. Winston Group had businesses in many fields, including real estate. Several famous buildings in Trensea had been funded by the company. Finding a quiet luxury villa near Ayla’s neighborhood was not difficult. Isabella handled the arrangements quickly.
The only problem was that the new house needed a day to prepare.
So that night, the twins had to stay at the old villa.
Ayla went there herself. When she stepped inside with Fluffy in her arms, a strange feeling rose in her chest. She had once believed she would never come back to this house.
There were simply too many memories here–memories she did not want to think about again.
Laura was overjoyed when she saw Ayla. Over the past few days, she had been busy preparing all kinds of baby supplies, waiting for the twins to arrive. Now that the babies were finally home, she looked happier han ever. Smiling brightly, she showed Ayla the things she had prepared, one by one. Still, she was careful not to talk too much.
Ayla gently placed her son in the nursery. Troy carried their daughter in and laid her down beside The little girl was still fast asleep. Since the babies were settled, Ayla decided it was time to leave.

Troy had been quiet the whole time. When he saw her about to go, he suddenly reached out and caught her wrist. Ayla frowned slightly. That small expression made Troy’s chest tighten with pain. “Can you stay?” He looked at her with a long, affectionate look. “Come back. We need you.”
He really meant it. In the past, Troy rarely said anything gentle. Now, he was trying to hold her back and even confess his feelings. For someone like him, that was a huge change.

Perhaps it was the familiar setting of the house. For a brief moment, Ayla’s gaze softened, and her emotions became a little more complicated. But she holds on to her reason. “The children can’t tie me down. I will fulfill my responsibility as their mother. But beyond that, nothing else will happen between
us.”
Troy’s eyes reddened in an instant.
Sometimes, a person could still be standing right in front of you, yet they felt farther away with every passing second. And no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t stop it. All you could do was watch helplessly.
Troy felt like he couldn’t breathe.
He had pushed away the happiness that had once been so close.
“Ayla, I regret everything,” Troy said, his teeth clenched tight.
For a long time, Troy had been lying to himself. If the divorce had never happened, he might never have realized what he had truly lost.
But life had a harsh way of teaching people lessons. And sometimes the cost was losing someone you could never get back.
The twins had brought Ayla back into his life. They had even led to her breaking up with Draven. By all accounts, that should have been good news for Troy. But the uneasy feeling never went away. All he could do was watch as Ayla’s heart slowly moved farther and farther away from him.
Deep down, Troy was grateful the twins had been born. They were the one thing still tying them together. Because of them, he could still see Ayla every day. Maybe they could stay this way for the rest of their lives, quietly growing old in each other’s presence.
“I want to hug you,” Troy said, his voice rough and low. His dark eyes looked at her with clear longing. “Just once. Is that okay?”
Ayla saw the emotion in his eyes and slowly closed hers.
The next second, he pulled her into his arms. He held her tightly, almost as if he wanted to press her into himself and never let go.
But a hug was the only thing Ayla could give him. Nothing more.
If they had not come back to where they had once lived together for three years, she wouldn’t have given him even that.
Time passed quietly. Ayla wasn’t sure how long it had been.
“That’s enough,” she said at last. Troy’s embrace was warm, but it could no longer reach her heart.
His voice sounded low and restrained beside her ear. “Can we stay like this forever?” he asked softly. “From now on, don’t fall in love with anyone else. You don’t have to come back to me; I can accept that.”
Ayla suddenly noticed how different people could be.

Draven’s kindness was always quiet, hidden in the smallest details. Sometimes you only realized it later, and when you did, it warmed your heart.
Like the time she accidentally sent him a message. Draven simply replied, “Congratulations.” He didn’t ask why she had sent the message. That way, she didn’t feel any pressure to explain. But that word still said everything. It told Ayla he had been quietly paying attention, quietly standing by her side. And he congratulated her on her new role as a mother. Even though the twins had been the reason they broke up, Draven still chose to wish her happiness.
