Chapter 636 The Kiss Goes Too Far
After divorcing Troy, Ayla never once looked back. If she had been less determined, things might have turned out differently. Troy had chased after her fiercely. He tried again and again to win her back. He was even starting to change, slowly learning how to truly love someone. And now they had children together. In a situation like that, most people would choose to remarry. They would become a family of four again and live a peaceful life.
At the moment, Draven had only one thing in his favor. He and Ayla had spent eight months together. That time meant a lot to her. The memories they shared carried real weight in her heart. Because of that. Draven had become someone very important to her.
The only question was whether those months mattered more than the three years she had spent with Troy,
In the past, Draven was always jealous of Troy. After all, Ayla and Troy had shared so much history. But now Draven and Ayla had their memories too. In that sense, things finally felt a little more even.
Still, it wasn’t enough.
Ayla was surprised Draven was so perceptive. He had seen through her so easily. She really had been trying to move forward with her life.
She stayed silent for a moment before asking. “Why do you seem a little different to me too?”
Draven paused. “Different how?”
She studied him carefully. “You feel a little unfamiliar.”
Instead of feeling upset, he felt oddly comforted. He had noticed the change in Ayla; she had noticed the change in him. They understood each other too well. “Your instincts are right,” he said quietly. “Now that we’ve broken up, I can finally say this. I’m not as amazing as you think I am. Back then, Troy told you to stay away from me. His warning wasn’t wrong.”
His voice was low and heavy, and something about it sent a chill through the air. Ayla stiffened.
Draven had always been very good at putting on a show. When he wanted people to like him, he knew exactly how to behave. He could hide the darker side of himself and quietly get what he wanted. Only eremy truly knew what he was like. Draven never shows that side of him to Ayla. He had been afraid it would scare her away. But now they had already broken up. There was nothing left for him to lose. Draven ried to be the perfect gentleman; he gained nothing. Meanwhile, Troy’s reckless behavior had still managed to drive a thorn between them.
Maybe it really was true that brothers shared something in their blood. In a strange way, Draven almost wanted to learn from Troy.
Ayla pulled herself away from the coldness coming from him. Her voice sounded a little stiff. “Why would you say that?”
Draven met her eyes. “I just want you to understand me better.”
Ayla frowned slightly. “We already broke up. Why would I need to understand you?”

Draven let out a self sigh. “You’re right,” he said quietly. “We already broke up.
Ayla fell quiet. After a short pause, she finally spoke. Her voice was calm and gentle. “Draven… no matter what happens to you, it won’t change the way I see you.”
He said nothing.
The room grew completely still. Ayla heard nothing except the steady thump of her heartbeat. Ten econds passed; neither of them said a word. Ayla decided it was time to leave. She had just begun to move when Draven suddenly lifted his hands and held her face. Then, he kissed her.
The kiss was hard and forceful, without any softness.
tyla froze in shock. At first, she managed to endure it, but the intensity of the kiss quickly made it hard for ier to breathe. She pushed her hands against Draven’s firm chest, trying to push him away. But he didn’t nove. Ayla had no choice but to endure the suffocating kiss. A quiet sense of fear crept into her heart. Something about this moment felt strange and unfamiliar. It almost felt like he was punishing her.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Someone knocked loudly on the door. Before anyone inside could react, the door was uddenly kicked open.
3right hallway light flooded into the dark room.
Troy stood at the doorway. The moment he saw them, his face twisted with anger. His eyes were filled with cold fury. He rushed forward at once. “Motherfucker, let go of Ayla!”
Draven reacted immediately. He released Ayla at once.
Then he stepped aside, making sure Troy wouldn’t bump into her.
Troy’s fist shot forward and struck Draven at the corner of his mouth. When Troy tried to throw another punch, Draven grabbed his wrist and stopped him.
Troy quickly shook him off. The two men stepped back, putting space between them.
Draven calmly pressed his thumb against the corner of his injured lip. His gaze remained steady as he ooked at Troy, whose face burned with anger. Even after being hit, Draven’s expression stayed calm. In the past, Ayla had always thought that calmness was simply part of who he was. But now, for the first time, she sensed a danger beneath it.
Something quiet. Something dangerous. Ayla lowered her eyes. Her lips stung with pain. He must have bitten them during the kiss.
Draven’s sudden, intense kiss had truly shocked her. He had never kissed her like that before. Her thoughts were in chaos. All she could feel was her heart beating fast in her chest.
Troy, meanwhile, looked like a furious dog whose tail had just been stepped on. The moment he realized Draven had dared to kiss Ayla again, a burning anger rose inside him–an anger he simply could not hold
