Maybe I imagined it. It only lasted a second or two. Right now, Kaleb’s gaze toward me is nothing but cold and disgusted, like I’m the most unbearable person in the world.

Kaleb let out a self–mocking laugh. “Guess I should feel honored that you went this far just to mess with me.”

Bria’s eyes widened at his sarcasm. “Isn’t that something to be honored by? You should be kneeling and thanking me!”

Kaleb clenched his jaw. “If I disgust you that much, then stay away from me from now on. Got it?”

Panic flickered through Bria for a split second. She glared at him. “So pushing me away makes it easier for you to chase some sweet little girl?”
