Chapter 797 No Room For Reconciliation
There clearly wasn’t anything at all.

Kaleb felt awful, but he was still rational. Luckily, he hadn’t fallen too deep. Given some time, he’d be able to process all of it.
The condition was that Bria had to disappear from his world during that time.
So Kaleb said something just as cold. “Ever since I found out who you really are, every time I see you, I feel sick. Bria, stop bothering me. Otherwise, I’ll just think even less of you.”
After saying that, Kaleb turned and walked away.
He strode out in big steps, suddenly feeling a sting in his eyes. He blinked a few times and forced it down.
All of Bria’s emotions were wiped clean by Kaleb’s words, “I don’t have feelings for you.”
Back in the movie theater, she could feel that Kaleb was into her. One glance had been enough for them to understand each other.
So it’s all been in my
head?
Just because I’ve fallen for Kaleb, I’ve put a filter over him and misread everything he meant?
A wave of discomfort suddenly crashed over Bria, so intense that she almost wanted to cry.
Damn it. I actually wanna cry!
Clutching her lower abdomen, aching from her period, Bria slowly crouched down, staying motionless for a long, long time.
She hadn’t even had the chance to ask whether Kaleb treated everyone with that same attentiveness before his blunt “I don’t have feelings for you” completely crushed her. This was probably the greatest humiliation she’d ever experienced.
Bria had never imagined that one day, she’d be the one practically begging a man to love her.
Feeling miserable, she lay flat on the grass, staring up at the darkening sky. She didn’t care about the strange looks from passersby. All she did was stare upward.
If Kaleb hadn’t overheard her conversation with Andrew, he definitely would’ve waited quietly outside the hospital. He wouldn’t have left her alone.
But now, she was completely by herself.

Bria didn’t even know if she had cried. All she knew was that she’d been hit hard.
After lying there for a long time, she finally got up and left.
Kaleb still doesn’t understand me well enough. The more he provokes me, the worse things will get.
Kaleb, I didn’t want to treat you like this. You brought this on yourself!

At Bria’s house.
On the table lay photos of Kaleb escorting Matilda out of the hospital.
Every moment had been captured.
Kaleb really hadn’t stayed behind to wait for her.
The stark contrast in his attitude made her heart ache,
Andrew sat off to the side, occasionally glancing up at Bria’s face.
He couldn’t shake the feeling that he didn’t recognize her anymore. She used to wear her emotions openly, but now, her face was completely blank. From certain angles, she looked eerily similar to her older brother, Troy.
Andrew used to think Bria and Troy didn’t seem like siblings at all, one so outgoing and the other so reserved. Turns out that wasn’t the case.
Bria was eight years younger than Troy. The age gap had just made it harder to see before.
As Bria slowly grew up, their shared blood and genes started to show.
On top of that, Andrew realized he had underestimated Kaleb’s place in Bria’s heart.
At first, he’d thought she’d lose interest in Kaleb within a month. Instead, it dragged on for two.
Before things could be wrapped up, Kaleb had already found out. Under normal circumstances, Bria would’ve just felt annoyed, then come up with another plan to win him over. She wouldn’t have had such a strong emotional reaction.
Because people who didn’t matter didn’t deserve that kind of attention. She wouldn’t take them seriously at all.
But Bria’s reaction this time was completely different.

No matter how you looked at it, Bria cared deeply about Kaleb.
Not just Kaleb, but Shirley too. Bria cared about her just as much.

They had grown up together. That bond was why Andrew had been able to become inseparable from Bria, along with Renee. Aside from them, despite all the years Andrew had spent by her side, he’d never seen Bria form any other genuine friendships or have a serious relationship.
Yet Shirley had made her way into Bria’s heart. And Kaleb too. What Bria felt for Kaleb wasn’t some fleeting crush; it had lasted until now.
She had truly let him in. That was why her reaction was so intense.
Bria had angered both Kaleb and Shirley. If she wanted to repair those relationships, she’d have to sincerely apologize and ask for their forgiveness.
But Bria wasn’t the type who could lower herself and apologize properly. The moment she met someone, she’d end up arguing, striking right at their weak spots and reopening old wounds.
Personality determined everything. Even if she understood it all, what could she do if she simply couldn’t change?
Now, just one sentence or a disappointed look from Shirley was enough to provoke Bria. There was no way she could communicate with her.
And Kaleb was as stubborn as a mule. Someone as proud as him couldn’t stand being humiliated. He probably wished Bria would disappear from his world entirely. Once he completely lost interest in her, his heart would turn to stone, leaving no room for reconciliation.
