Chapter 863 Make Her Jealous

Halle opened the mess

and looked at it. After a while, she was sure

it was sent by Nina,

Flinshed

There were some photos.

Men’s and women’s clothes tangled together. The pictures were a bit unclear, but it was still obvious what they meant. Then there was a photo of Edgar from behind the camera. Next to him, a pair of feet could be seen. It looked like he was holding a child.

Halle felt a little amused. James had been updating her about his schedule, and now Nina was also reporting Edgar’s schedule to her.

She didn’t care much. She calmly put her phone down, went to wash up, then changed into a neat business outfit and went downstairs for breakfast.

When Halle got downstairs, Hayley and Tyler were already there.

Since she was the only one coming down, Tyler frowned. “Is he still sleeping?”

Edgar had slipped out quietly last night. Hayley didn’t know about it, so she thought the two of them had stayed in the room all night. Otherwise, she would have come to check last night.

Just then, Edgar came back from outside in sportswear.

Tyler and Hayley were both surprised.

Edgar looked at his parents, then at Halle in her business outfit. He couldn’t help but tighten his hand. Was she dressing like that just to show off in front of my dad how capable she was? Since when did she get so fake?

Tyler said, “Why were you outside?”

Halle also looked at Edgar curiously.

Edgar had deliberately let Halle know what he was doing last night, just to make her feel annoyed. Now she was up so early and dressed so neatly. It looked like she was trying to show she didn’t care, but she actually cared a lot.

Edgar said calmly, “I went out to exercise for a while.”

Halle suddenly smiled.

Edgar almost frowned on reflex, but then he remembered Tyler was watching. He forced a calm look and asked, “What are you laughing at?”

Halle said, “Nothing.” She looked him over. “It’s good that you like working out.”

Hayley felt something was off between them, but she couldn’t tell what it was. She just told them to come

eat.

Edgar walked over to Halle and helped her adjust the bag in her hand. Then he leaned close and whispered, “How was sleeping alone last night?”

Halle knew he was trying to provoke her. “I slept very well,” she said.

Edgar’s face froze for a moment. With his parents there, he couldn’t lose control. He could only hold it in

and sit down to eat.

After breakfast, Halle got ready to drive to work. Edgar followed her under the excuse of sending her off Once Tyler and Hayley were out of sight, he stopped pretending. “Stop acting,” he said.

Halle replied, “Acting? You’re the one acting all the time. Now that I’ve seen through you, have you thought about how you’re going to explain things to your parents?”

Edgar said, “You don’t have the guts to expose me.”

Halle said, “Yeah. That’s why I’m waiting for you to tell your parents everything yourself”

When that happens, she would stop playing along. Everything from the past would come to an end.

During this time, Halle would treat it as if she were getting to know Edgar all over again.

In just one day, Halle felt like she was seeing a completely different Edgar. She didn’t place herself inside their relationship anymore. She was only observing, so she didn’t get hurt.

At this moment, Halle didn’t even feel like judging anything. In Edgar’s eyes, she probably wasn’t a good person either. From loving each other to being sick of each other, she never thought they would reach this point.

Edgar said, “What do I have to explain?”

Halle said, “Alright. Are you done talking?”

His emotions always felt out of control when it came to Halle. So he really wanted her to lose control, too. But she stayed calm, and that only made him more upset. The calmer she was, the more he wanted to make her uncomfortable. “Don’t you want to know what I did last night?” he asked.

Halle said, “I already know. You told me. Nina missed you, so you went to see her. You stayed with her all night.”

Edgar said, “So? You’re not mad?”

That wasn’t how he thought it would go. He expected Halle to be jealous and upset. She liked him, she cared about him, so she should be jealous. But why was she so calm?

Halle raised an eyebrow. “So you did all that on purpose? Just to make me angry?”

Edgar said, “You…”

“It looks like that’s true. I suggest you stop doing that. It only hurts both of us, and it means nothing. Move aside. I have to go to work,” Halle said flatly.

Edgar watched as Halle walked away calmly, without crying or arguing. Her reaction made him look like a fool for asking those questions.
