Andres nodded.
After a moment of thought, he still voiced the question lingering in his heart.
"Since Charlie retained his memories from his past life, why didn't he ever seek me out during his first twenty-odd years?"
Griffin countered with a faint, enigmatic smile. "If you and Charlie traded places, what would you have done?"
Andres was speechless.
If he were the one with the memories, watching his beloved wife be born, grow up, and spending every waking moment by her side...
Knowing that the time limit was only nineteen years, he would have stayed with her every single second, never leaving her side.
Even if the one to possess her in the future was another version of himself, he would have been consumed by jealousy, utterly unable to bear it.
As if reading his thoughts, Griffin patted his shoulder.
"Don't forget, you two have always been the same person."
"What you would do, Charlie would do. What you despise, Charlie also despised."
"If it weren't for the Heavenly Tribulation growing increasingly fierce, you might have gone your entire life without ever crossing paths with Maeve."
"Everything you have now is destiny."
Not giving Andres too much time to be sentimental, Griffin continued.
"My days are numbered. For the road ahead, guide Maeve well."
"If one day I vanish completely, don't bother looking for me. Just assume I'm living well in another time and space."
Glancing toward the room where Maeve was fast asleep, Griffin let out a low sigh.
"Whether in the past or the present, she has always been spoiled. From now on, you'll need to be more accommodating."
Andres didn't need Griffin to tell him that; he already knew what to do.
"Once Maeve gives birth to the children, can we finally send Nancy to her grave?"
Griffin saw the pure hatred in Andres's eyes.
It seemed that after the hypnosis, an irreversible magnetic field connection had indeed formed between Andres and Charlie's consciousness.
"Nancy's fate was ordained by the heavens long ago."
Maeve slept for a very long time.
When she finally woke up, she was already back at Azure Bay Villa.
Maeve froze.
Although he was stating a fact, how did he know that? Did he understand her past?
"Wait, who are you exactly?"
Andres chuckled at the sudden, bizarre question.
"I'm your husband."
Maeve also realized it was a stupid thing to ask.
They said pregnancy caused brain fog. Had she fallen victim to it?
"Tell me the truth. Is my dad at Quinn Hayes's villa?"
If he was, she wanted nothing more than to storm over there right now.
Andres patted her back comfortingly.
"Quinn's villa was just a temporary stop for Master. By the time you fell asleep, he had already left. He truly didn't say where he was going."
"But before he left, he urged me to remind you that during this critical period, you shouldn't act impulsively. Everything must wait until after the babies are born."
