Troy decided to stop pushing her. He seemed to understand how determined Ayla was. So he lowered his expectations. If things could stay the way they were now, that would be enough for him. At the very least, he hoped she would never fall in love with someone else.

Maybe this was the compromise he had been forced to make. Troy regretted everything now. His love for Ayla had slowly turned into a possessive kind of longing.

The difference between the two men had been small, but Ayla felt completely different.

Once someone has experienced something truly good, it became hard to accept anything

worse.

Ayla gently but firmly pushed Troy away. When she saw the tears in his eyes, her chest tightened for a moment. She let out a quiet sigh. “I’m heading back. You should get some rest.”

Then she walked away.

Halle was already waiting in the car. As soon as Ayla sat down, she closed her eyes and leaned back. Halle knew Ayla had been tense for days. So, she didn’t speak. She simply started the car and drove her home in silence.

After getting home, Ayla washed up and lay down in bed. She had just left the villa filled with memories of the past. Now she was back in the house that held memories of Draven.

These past few days had truly drained her. Traveling back with the twins had been exhausting. She had worried the whole way, and her emotions had been up and down the entire time. Now it was late. The night was quiet. And suddenly, she couldn’t hold it together anymore.

Ayla covered her face and buried herself under the blanket. Tears slipped down her cheeks. Without thinking, she murmured softly, “Mom.” Juliana had always been the person who guided her through life. Right now, Ayla wished she could ask her for advice. She wanted to talk about the confusion and pain inside her heart. If Juliana were here, she would surely giv wise advice. She would tell Ayla what to do, give her courage, and remind her not to be afraid. But the moment the word left her lips, Ayla realized something. Her mother was gone. She would never hear from her again. At that thought, Ayla finally broke down. What was she doing? Her mom had already passed away, yet she was still calling out to her.

The next morning, Troy told her the nursery was ready,

Ayla called Harper. Then the two of them went Blue Villa, which was about half a mile

Fluffy and Birdie each had three nannies. Every nanny had a different role, so the babies’ daily needs would be handled carefully. A private medical team was on standby at all times. There was a housekeeper in charge of the staff. She had been sent by Martin. Her name was Tamara Bowen. She was 50 years old, quick with her work, and someone Martin trusted.

After a brief introduction, Ayla asked Harper and his assistant to start adjusting the villa’s monitoring system. The equipment there was already top-level, so she didn’t need to install anything new. She only needed to connect it to Her system.

The system would track the twins’ vital signs at all times. It would also monitor the six nannies and Tamara. Every day, it would generate a detailed report-things like the babies’ body temperature and how much milk they drank. The amount of data collected each day was enormous. The analysis required large data models and heavy computing power. Luckily, this was exactly Ayla’s field. Her company also had strong computing resources, so handling the workload was not difficult.

Tamara stood nearby and watched Ayla as she focused on typing. She was genuinely surprised. When someone becomes truly skilled in their field, they carry a certain presence. It’s quiet but powerful enough to make others respect them.

For some reason, Tamara felt a little intimidated by her.

Before leaving, Ayla went to look at the babies. Their cheeks were soft and chubby. Their eyes were wide and bright. At first, Ayla had worried about how to raise them well. But after spending more than ten days together, something inside her had changed. She had grown fond of them, not because she had to, but because it came naturally. These were her babies. These were two little beings who would love her unconditionally.

Ayla leaned down and kissed each of them. Warmth spread quietly through her heart.

It’s my first time being a mom, she thought. I’m still learning. I’ll probably make mistakes. Please don’t blame me for that.

For now, Ayla’s hopes for the twins were simple. Just grow up safe and healthy. After all, they were still tiny babies who only knew how to eat and sleep.

Time flew by. In just a few days, the party had arrived. Fluffy and Birdie had grown plump and round. They looked even more adorable now. After work each day, Ayla would stop by just to spend some time with them.

But today was different. She had a business dinner with Halle and Lisa,

Lisa had originally invested in ZeitTech as part of her move to compete with Rolf for control
