Halle opened the message and looked at it. After a while, she was sure it was sent by Nina.
There were some photos.
Men's and women's clothes tangled together. The pictures were a bit unclear, but it was still obvious what they meant. Then there was a photo of Edgar from behind the camera. Next to him, a pair of feet could be seen. It looked like he was holding a child.
Halle felt a little amused. James had been updating her about his schedule, and now Nina was also reporting Edgar's schedule to her.
She didn't care much. She calmly put her phone down, went to wash up, then changed into a neat business outfit and went downstairs for breakfast.
When Halle got downstairs, Hayley and Tyler were already there.
Since she was the only one coming down, Tyler frowned. "Is he still sleeping?"
Edgar had slipped out quietly last night. Hayley didn't know about it, so she thought the two of them had stayed in the room all night. Otherwise, she would have come to check last night.
Just then, Edgar came back from outside in sportswear.
Tyler and Hayley were both surprised.
Edgar looked at his parents, then at Halle in her business outfit. He couldn't help but tighten his hand. Was she dressing like that just to show off in front of my dad how capable she was? Since when did she get so fake?
Tyler said, "Why were you outside?"
Halle also looked at Edgar curiously.
Edgar had deliberately let Halle know what he was doing last night, just to make her feel annoyed. Now she was up so early and dressed so neatly. It looked like she was trying to show she didn't care, but she actually cared a lot.
Edgar said calmly, "I went out to exercise for a while."
Halle suddenly smiled.
Edgar almost frowned on reflex, but then he remembered Tyler was watching. He forced a calm look and asked, "What are you laughing at?"
Halle said, "Nothing." She looked him over. "It's good that you like working out."
Hayley felt something was off between them, but she couldn't tell what it was. She just told them to come eat.
Edgar walked over to Halle and helped her adjust the bag in her hand. Then he leaned close and whispered, "How was sleeping alone last night?"
Halle knew he was trying to provoke her. "I slept very well," she said.
Edgar's face froze for a moment. With his parents there, he couldn't lose control. He could only hold it in and sit down to eat.
After breakfast, Halle got ready to drive to work. Edgar followed her under the excuse of sending her off. Once Tyler and Hayley were out of sight, he stopped pretending. "Stop acting," he said.
