Herman said in a low voice, "I'm already ready to take care of you for my whole life. What do you think? Blake, the choice has always been yours. I can only listen to you."
"Hahaha." Blake laughed. "You're really being so nice to me."
"You're older than me. I have to show you respect." Herman replied smoothly.
When Blake thought about Herman's refined, polite look while saying all this, she felt that the contrast was really attractive—even a little sexy.
"Fine. I agree to let you keep taking care of me," she said.
Out of sight, Herman quietly clenched his fist to celebrate. But his voice stayed calm, still a little smug. "I want a title."
"How about a nanny?" Blake teased.
Herman said, "No. That's too low. I need something I can proudly show off. Like your husband."
Blake felt like slapping him awake. "What kind of dream are you having in the middle of the night?"
"If husband won't work, then boyfriend is fine too," Herman continued.
As always, he threw out something impossible first, then took a step back. He never got tired of this trick.
Blake responded, "You're doing that again?"
"So, I'm your boyfriend now," Herman said.
Blake was quiet for a few seconds before she said, "You knew I'd agree, so why even bring up husband?"
Herman said schemingly, "I wanted to prepare you early so you wouldn't reject me too much. After all, I'm going to be your husband someday."
Hearing his confident tone, Blake didn't know how to respond for a moment.
But Herman asked directly, "Why didn't you tell me this in person? Why wait until I got home?"
If he had known earlier that Blake was going to call him, he wouldn't have stayed out so long.
While she was waiting for his reply, she might have started overthinking things.
Because he'd suffered through the secret crush himself, Herman knew how painful it was to overthink and feel restless. He didn't want Blake to go through that.
So he even felt a little guilty.
But at the same time, he was also curious, waiting for her answer.
Blake said, "What else could it be? I'm not good at handling things like this. A phone call works just fine anyway."
For the past month, Blake had been constantly surprised. She really couldn't handle it.
