Chapter 177 The Moment Everything Snapped

For the first time in his life, Troy understood what it meant to be blinded by anger.

Maybe it was the alcohol. Maybe it was everything piling up. But right now, he was so mad he couldn’t even form a sentence.

Ayla only gave him a cold laugh and stepped past him.

Casey froze in shock. He didn’t know if he was shocked or scared. He simply stood petrified.

Ayla tugged his wrist. “Let’s go.”

Troy finally reacted. He reached out, trying to grab Ayla’s hand.

Max rushed over and happened to catch the scene. He instinctively moved to block Troy.

Casey stepped forward to shield Ayla, and pain shot up his forearm But the next second, Troy flung him aside like he weighed nothing.

“Move,” Troy barked.

Sweat slid down Casey’s forehead. “Sir, please calm down.”

Max shot Casey a warning glare, then planted himself in front of Troy. He looked straight at him, voice low and steady. “Troy.”

But the fire in Troy’s eyes didn’t fade. “Max, move to the side now.”

Max didn’t budge. “You’re divorced from Ayla.”

That one sentence hit Troy like a bucket of ice water. His lips pressed into a hard line. His hands curled into fists at his sides, knuckles turning white.

Ayla turned to Casey. “Are you okay?”

Then she gave Troy a cold look, one that cut straight through him.

Troy’s face went pale.

Ayla was actually checking on a male escort right in front of him?

Troy didn’t even know what words could describe how terrible he felt in that moment.

Max frowned. Something was seriously off with Troy tonight.

Ayla noticed Casey only shaking his head, refusing to speak, but the sweat on his face said he was definitely not fine.

She reached to pull up his sleeve to check.

Suddenly, a long hand slipped in from the side.

Casey was pushed safely out of the way.

The movement looked gentle, almost effortless, but the strength behind it was undeniable.

Casey was shocked. He braced himself for another burst of pain, but he only took one step back and stayed standing.

Startled, he looked up. The man in front of him was half a head taller, calm as stone, but terrifying in a quieter way. Casey was petrified.

He already knew the gloomy man was Ayla’s ex-husband, the kind of man whose anger you could feel.

But this man didn’t even need to show emotion to make people afraid. He didn’t glare. He didn’t threaten. His presence alone pressed down like a weight.

Both men were dangerous in different ways. Either one of them was enough to make Casey’s instincts

scream.

They were nothing like Max.

Tonight had really opened Casey’s eyes.

Who were these people he’d run into?

Ayla froze for a second when she saw Draven’s sharp, handsome face. She called out, “Mr. Storm.”

Draven sudden appearance didn’t surprise her much.

And with Draven here, Troy couldn’t really lose control. If they fought in a bar, the whole social circle would hear about it in less than half an hour. Martin would know too.

If they ever fought again, it would have to be in private, like what they had done in the courthouse.

But that probably wouldn’t happen anymore.

They were both 28 years old, full-grown men. If they wanted to hurt each other, there were a hundred ways to do it without throwing punches.

Just as Ayla expected, Troy calmed down right away.

One second ago, he almost exploded. But the moment he saw Draven, the fire in him dropped.

His face looked cold and nothing else.

Troy let out a low, icy laugh and walked toward Draven.

Max had never seen how the brothers acted in private, but he knew how bad their relationship was. He reached out to stop Troy.

Troy brushed his hand away and stepped right up beside Draven.

The brothers stood shoulder to shoulder-similar build, similar height, both with a heavy presence. They looked intimidating together.

Everyone stepped back without thinking.

Casey had already backed up about fifteen feet. He looked genuinely scared.
