Chapter 303 Future Godfather

But to Ayla, Halle was different from everyone else. Ayla had never thought of relying on anyone, yet now she was willing to let go of everything and trust Halle.

And she also had the strength to become Halle’s support.

They protected each other. No matter what happened, they would always stand behind one another.

“When we’re old, let’s travel around the world together,” Ayla said.

“No problem. I’ll stay with you the whole way,” Halle replied.

As they drank, Ayla and Halle talked about the future, just like they did back in their student days. But now, they were not the same as before.

They were more mature. More confident. The future was right in front of them.

No one knew how long they had been drinking when Ayla’s phone rang. Draven’s voice came through. I’m

here.”

Ayla’s drinking tolerance had improved after Juliana passed away, so she could handle alcohol pretty well. Still, she was a little tipsy tonight. It was safer to have someone come get her.

“I… I’m in Private Room 16,” she said.

Halle was drunk too. “Who are you on the phone with?”

Ayla hung up. “Draven.”

“He’s coming to pick you up?”

“Yes. I’ll have him take you home first.”

“Ayla, you’re impressive,” Halle said as she touched Ayla’s face. “Draven is actually your driver now.”

Someone knocked on the door.

“He’s here,” Ayla said quickly. “Don’t talk nonsense. Let’s go together.”

Both Ayla and Halle behaved well when drunk. They didn’t cause trouble. But their eyes were not as clear as usual, and their minds drifted in and out.

When the door opened, Ayla saw Draven dressed all in black.

His hair was slicked back, showing a smooth forehead. His brow was sharp and deep-set. Black shirt. Black tie. Black suit. Black leather shoes. Not a single other color on him.

Draven had an excellent build. In his tailored suit, his broad shoulders, lean waist, and long legs stood ouз

clearly. His proportions were perfect.

Ayla’s mind was slightly foggy. For a moment, she thought she had run into a male model. But once she realized it was Draven, all those thoughts vanished.

Tonight, Draven looked especially serious. Even colder than usual. Calm and restrained.

“Draven,” Ayla blinked at him. “Can we send Halle home first?”

Draven had arrived half an hour ago. After waiting for an hour and a half with no message from Ayla, he finally called her.

Now he saw Ayla and Halle together, drinking. Their eyes were red. It looked like they had cried, but not out of sadness.

Draven didn’t ask questions. “Okay.”

Halle was completely drunk, while Ayla was a bit steadier, so she sat in the back seat to look after her. Draven quietly drove in the front. He really did look like a driver.

They soon arrived at Halle’s place.

James had recently gotten a dog and was walking it nearby. He “just happened” to run into them.

“Damn, Ayla. How much did you and Halle drink?” James complained, but still reached out to take Halle from Ayla and support her.

Halle was truly exhausted. As she leaned against James’s broad shoulder, she smelled a pleasant scent on

him.

James was usually careless. Most of the time, he only smelled like body wash. Why is he wearing cologne today?

Halle didn’t bother thinking about it. She was about to fall asleep.

James glanced at Halle, then said to Ayla, “I’ll take her inside to sleep. You two head back. Get some rest.

Half-asleep, Halle mumbled, “Ayla, go home and rest well.”

“Okay,” Ayla replied. Just then, James’s small white curly-haired toy poodle ran around Ayla’s legs. Ayla asked curiously, “What’s her name?”

James smiled. “Lemon.”

He added, “Lemon, the fruit.”

Holding Halle with one arm, James picked up the dog with the other. “Come on, son. This is Ms. Keaton. She’s your godmother.”
