Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 37

Chapter 37 Don’t Let Me See It

Fortunately, Bria had said that three years ago, they were not together at all.

Otherwise, Ayla would probably have fallen for Juliet’s reasoning.

But she did not follow Juliet’s words to overthink, because she wanted to understand the reason for Juliet’s change in attitude toward her

This had always been a confusing point.

Although Ayla had guessed, she did not want to think that way.

Now, she could be certain.

“Aunt Juliet, you distanced yourself from me because of Skyla,” Ayla said.

Juliet’s expression grew cold. “How can you think that about me?”

Juliet did not like being confronted with the cold and cruel truth, and she preferred to pretend ignorance for the sake of both of them.

Yet, this was the truth.

Facing her family, Ayla did not want to deceive herself.

Having been raised under her mother’s strict guidance, even her aunt’s cold face reminded her of her mother.

Ayla still did not want to look away.

“Aunt Juliet, I know you want to ask if I’m really getting a divorce this time. I can tell you,” she said, her tone firmer than it had ever been.

“I am really leaving.”

Juliet knew about Ayla’s feelings for Troy, but she had never seen her with such resolute certainty.

Had she truly made up

her mind?

However, Skyla had said that Ayla always appeared in Troy’s life to check up on him, pretending to have coincidences.

She was complicated. Ayla, like her mother, was responsible, committed, and determined, yet when it came to Troy, she became hesitant and conflicted.

Juliet could not tell if Ayla was saying this to reassure herself or if it was truly the truth.

Seeing her aunt’s expression, Ayla realized she was not convinced.

Others might not care about her because of arrogance and prejudice, but Juliet had watched her grow up.

She should know best what kind of person her niece was.

How could Juliet not believe her?

Ayla felt a disappointment she could not express Previously, whenever she saw her aunt, she could not stop staring. Now, she only felt hurt and lacked any desire to communicate.

“Grandma is asleep, so I will go first,” Ayla said.

She turned to leave, but her wrist was grabbed.

She tried to pull away, but seeing Juliet’s face, she could not bring herself to let go. “Is there something else?”

Juliet held her hand, noting the injury from the technology exhibition. Juliet had seen it.

Previously, when Ayla caught a mild cold, she did not want to visit the hospital. Juliet had insisted on taking her to a doctor, gently scolding her, and checking with the doctor if she had been seriously ill.

Could it be that her aunt cared about her?

Ayla had a faint hope, however small, and could not help thinking that way.

Seeing Ayla ready to leave, Juliet did not argue. She noticed Ayla’s hand was bandaged and said nothing further, her concern turning to Skyla’s recent work.

Although Skyla had not asked for help, she proactively inquired, “I heard that LugiX was developed by Professor Avery Snowden at Agron University. You studied there, can you help me find out?”

Juliet did not know the details of Ayla’s college life, but she had heard her mention Professor Snowden’s name once or twice.

Of course, Ayla only had an undergraduate degree, far from Skyla, who had studied abroad for her doctorate.

In terms of excellence, Skyla was naturally the better one.

Juliet merely wanted to try her luck. If Ayla knew, that would be perfect.

Ayla was taken aback for a moment, then quickly understood. “You’re not in real estate? You’re shifting your business?”

As soon as Juliet spoke, Ayla thought of Skyla, though she did not want to think that way…

Juliet gave her no room to breathe.

“Because Skyla needs it…

Sure enough, she did not even spare any concern for her injured hand.

Rare anger exploded in Ayla’s chest. She could not help grasping Juliet’s wrist tightly.
