Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 746

When Max got together with Ayla, his role had been to make her happy, almost like a tool. It was exactly the kind of relationship Ayla had wanted at the time, something completely without emotional investment. It was called a relationship, but in reality, it had just been a form of entertainment.

Max had accepted all of that. He still wanted to be with her, so he had known from the beginning that it would eventually end.

He had always been someone who took things lightly, so he had expected the outcome. But during that time, he couldn't help fantasizing about a different ending. For example, that Ayla might choose neither Troy nor Draven, and instead truly end up with him.

But a fantasy was just a fantasy. Reality was reality. And reality was even colder and harsher than he had imagined. The breakup had come far too quickly.

They had only been together for a few days. The time they had actually spent together didn't even add up to 24 hours.

"But Ayla, you ended things with me before you even got back together with Draven. That just makes me even more jealous of him," Max said. Even so, he still wore that gentle, charming smile.

No matter the situation, he always carried himself with calm composure.

"Why?" Ayla looked at him.

"You probably don't even realize how much you care about Draven's feelings. You two aren't back together yet, but you've already given him a chance. And once you gave him that chance, you had to cut off everything else. Because in your eyes, what you have with Draven isn't something that can be treated casually. It's different from what you had with me, which was just for fun. The level of importance isn't the same, so the meaning is different, and your attitude is different too," Max said.

Ayla listened. It was true. She had always been serious when it came to Draven.

Max continued, "Look at you. You said you'd only date for your own happiness from now on, but the moment you ran into Draven, all your principles went out the window."

Max let out a breath. He covered his chest with one hand and laughed as he spoke. "I'm really heartbroken."

The way he acted made it seem like he was exaggerating on purpose. Ayla knew he was someone who valued dignity, so she understood that everything he said was sincere. He just didn't want to show real sadness and make her feel bad too.

Ayla said, "We just weren't meant to be."

Max laughed twice. "Ayla, there's no need to apologize. We agreed from the start that we could end things at any time. Actually, I should thank you for giving me the chance to hold your hand openly in front of Troy and Draven. I'm already very satisfied. I even thought that since I'm different from those two in personality, and we got along well, maybe you'd want a change and keep things going with me. But it couldn't beat reality."

Everything Max said was sincere. He was just trying to keep the atmosphere light. But now, even his expression turned serious as he asked, "Ayla, if I had met you earlier, would you have given me a chance?"
