Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 775

Because he moved too fast, Kaleb's palm had scraped open, leaving streaks of blood.

So when something like this happened, he would step in. He was usually the first to rush forward.

By coincidence, the girl running ahead was the same passerby who had shared a taxi with Kaleb earlier and helped him deliver the documents.

Kaleb told the driver to follow her.

Emmett urged the driver to go faster.

Fryndell was chaotic at night, especially in recent years. Theft there had become notorious worldwide. It was late, and there were barely any people around. The driver initially said they shouldn't get involved. But after seeing Kaleb's cold expression, he silently drove over anyway.

The girl running for her life was dressed with an artistic flair. She ran to an intersection when the piercing roar of a sports car suddenly tore through the air.

She got cut off.

Her face turned pale with fear as she screamed and ran to the side, disappearing into the shadows. A moment later, she staggered backward step by step, retreating into the light of a streetlamp.

Standing in front of her was a younger woman in a leather jacket.

Every strand of her hair seemed to radiate arrogance.

The woman in leather didn't hesitate. She kicked hard, grabbed the artsy girl by the collar, and slapped her three times in a row with full force. The artsy girl's face immediately swelled.

But she wasn't done. She reached out, and a bodyguard over six feet tall handed her a baseball bat. She grabbed it and swung hard, smashing it into the other woman's leg.

The artsy girl cried out in pain, clutching her leg as she collapsed to the ground. The woman in leather jacket lifted her chin with the bat, a smile on her face that held both innocence and cruelty at the same time, and began taunting her.

The artsy girl was full of furious resentment and snapped back.

That completely set the girl in leather jacket off.

She stepped on the girl's chest, raised the bat, and treated her head like a ball, swinging down hard.

At that moment, a sharp whistling sound cut through the air.

Then, someone flicked something over.

Emmett was completely stunned. He had left early just to avoid Bria. But then they ran into a girl being chased late at night. There was no way they could pretend they hadn't seen it. And it turned out the one chasing her was Bria.

It was harder than winning the lottery—yet here they were.

What kind of grudge would it take for Bria to chase someone all the way to Fryndell just to beat them up in the middle of the night?

All he could say was that Bria held grudges like a lunatic. Once she set her sights on someone, it was almost impossible to shake her off.

Emmett grew even more worried. In a couple of days, the game demo would go live. It was its first public appearance. They would be busy, with plenty of media in attendance. Nothing could go wrong right now. This was the last time he wanted to get tangled up with Bria.

Emmett immediately stepped in front of Kaleb. He was about six foot one, about an inch shorter than Kaleb, but still enough to block most of him. He forced a smile as he held Kaleb back and spoke to Bria, "Sorry, it's all a misunderstanding. We were just passing by, Ms. Winston. We won't disturb you. You can continue."

After saying that, Emmett tried to pull Kaleb away. But even after he turned around, Kaleb didn't move at all. Emmett shot him desperate looks and lowered his voice, "Come on, man, let's go. What are you standing there for? Didn't we agree earlier?"

Kaleb frowned but didn't move. He didn't seem like he wanted to speak either.

Lying on the ground, Melody immediately shouted, "Handsome, help me! Bria is going to kill me! Save me!"
