Blake didn't need Herman's concern at all.
Being in a foreign country, she had finally reached out to him for help. Herman naturally wanted to go to her immediately and take the chance to do something for the person he secretly liked.
She was in pain right now. The sooner it was relieved, the better.
But Melody suddenly lost control.
Herman frowned. "I don't need to report my personal matters to you. Calm down."
Melody couldn't stand his attitude. Herman was her brother. They were family. Bria and Draven hadn't even grown up together, yet when something happened to Bria, Draven showed up right away.
She and Herman had grown up under the same roof. Their relationship should have been closer. Herman should have cared about her more. Whatever she wanted, he should have given it to her. If she was upset, he should have comforted her. Even if she caused huge trouble, he should have cleaned it up for her without complaint.
But what happened instead? Herman always went against her.
And now, when she was falling apart like this, he still had the energy to talk to someone else, and in such a gentle tone.
Melody couldn't accept it at all. Because he was her brother, because he was family, she had no restraint. She threw a tantrum, screamed, acted irrationally, and vented everything without holding back.
She hurled insults at Herman, dumping all her anger onto him.
It never crossed her mind that she might be hurting him. In her eyes, he was family, so she could take out all her emotions on him without consequence.
Herman watched as Melody began smashing everything in the apartment.
In the past, when she lost her temper, he would comfort her and give in.
But some people never learned to appreciate that.
This time, Herman stayed completely calm. He looked around the room and noticed the string from a cake box. He walked over and picked it up.
Melody was lost in her own outburst and didn't notice what he was doing.
She kept smashing things and yelling, saying whatever came to mind, no matter how harsh.
Only after she had vented enough did she notice Herman standing in front of her.
She started hitting him, kicking and punching.
There was no respect at all, nothing that resembled how a younger sister should treat her brother.
Herman grabbed her wrist in one motion.
Melody couldn't break free and became even more furious. "What are you doing? Let go!"
She shouted while trying to strike him with her other hand.
Herman caught that wrist as well.
Then he used the string from the cake box to tie both of her wrists together.
Melody realized what he was doing. She struggled wildly, thrashing and trying to break free.
It didn't work.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
