Chapter 92 Scuffle
Chapter 92 Scuffle
When Ayla arrived at the bar, Kaleb and Zane were already fighting.
Emmett’s forehead was bruised too, like he’d barely survived being shoved around.

Zane had expected Kaleb to show up, so he’d brought a squad of bodyguards and was openly provoking
him.
“Got any proof it was me? No? Then, get the hell out. Judging by your face, it looks like your company’s about to go bankrupt anyway. Honestly? I can’t wait.”
Kaleb didn’t react, didn’t lunge like Zane hoped.
So, Zane kept pushing. “Kaleb, your life really is pathetic. Your brother-in-law likes my sister better-he even invested a few hundred million in her. You know what that means? It means you and your precious sister are trash. If I ever fell that low, I’d bash my head into a wall. Hell, go reunite with your dead mom while you’re at it!”
Zane wanted Kaleb to swing first.
Then, his men could beat Kaleb half to death, and even if the cops came, Kaleb would be the one “starting trouble.” Zane wouldn’t have to worry.
So, he said every ugly thing he could think of.
But Kaleb just stood there-motionless, unblinking, cold.
His eyes were sharp like a wolf pup that refused to bow its head.
“Oh, really?” Kaleb’s voice dropped, vicious. “You, your dad-aren’t you both just beggars who lived off my aunt’s money?”
The Summers’ success came entirely from Juliet.
Once Zane’s dad married her, he moved from a cramped apartment to a mansion.
From a regular school to elite private academies..
It was a dream, but a dream others mocked. He was happy for a while. Then the gossip started. The snide comments piled up. Shame settled in.
And when you’re young and hot-blooded, shame turns to rage. He would explode at the slightest
comment.
Meanwhile, Kaleb’s company was actually on its last legs financially.
Zane couldn’t stand the fact that Kaleb-who was supposedly “finished”-still dared look at him with contempt.

It drove him insane.
“Shut your mouth!”
Kaleb smiled coldly and slowly. “Your whole family is beggars.”
Zane snapped-brain blanking-grabbed a beer bottle and swung.
Kaleb let himself take a few hits, then fought back.
Because by then, he had had enough.
Kaleb was impulsive, sure, but he wasn’t stupid enough to walk straight into Zane’s trap.
They traded punches.

Zane, completely fired up, shouted to his bodyguards, “No one steps in! I’m gonna beat him to death today! And delete the damn security footage!”
So, the fight escalated.
Kaleb had tracked the hacker by elimination-A former employee who left to join RuneLogic.
Someone familiar enough with their system to leave nearly no trace behind. Calling the cops would lead
nowhere.
So, Kaleb’s goal tonight was simple.
He didn’t come to “solve” anything.

He came purely to vent.
Emmett arrived minutes later, saw the chaos, nearly blacked out from anger, and rushed in to help-
only to get blocked by Zane’s bodyguards and shoved around until he, too, ended up bruised.
That was when Ayla arrived.
At the same time, the bar’s manager ran over, trying to break up the fight.
Security separated everyone.
The moment the manager saw Zane, he instinctively tried to sweep everything under the carpet.
“Call the cops,” Ayla said, not in the mood to argue.
The manager said anxiously, “They’re young. A little argument isn’t worth escalating. Let’s settle privately, yes?”
Zane ignored him-his eyes locked onto Ayla. He gave a mocking laugh and said loudly to Kaleb, “So, this is your sister? Pretty face, but just as dumb as you.”

The manager was speechless.
He stared at Zane for a second.
He thought, Buddy, you are the dumb one here.
Only an idiot causes idiot problems—and dumps them on me.
But Zane had ties to Winston Group. And the bar owner, Max, was friends with Troy.
So, even if Zane was an idiot, the manager had no choice but to protect him.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
