Chapter 1059
“Honestly, yeah,” Benny admitted. Life was amazing–he found himself genuinely wanting a kid of his own. ‘Maybe I’m just getting old.’
On the way, they swung by Mike’s International Kindergarten and picked him up an hour earlier than usual.
Teresa told the teacher, “Ms. Quin, Michael’s dad is coming back, so we’re planning to take him to the airport to pick him up.”
“I understood, Ms. Johnston,” Ms. Quin replied.
She went into the classroom and called Michael out. She couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Teresa is so beautiful, and Michael was such an adorable kid. Could his dad be just as handsome? I wonder what Michael’s dad looks
like?‘
“Mom, does that mean I don’t have to go to school today?” Michael asked, his voice full of surprise as he ran over, grabbed Teresa’s hand, and blinked up at her with wide, confused eyes.
“We’re heading home early today because…” Teresa pinched his cheek and grinned mysteriously. “Your dad’s coming back. Are you happy?”
“Wow!” Michael bounced up with excitement. “Really? Mr. Lime is coming back? Where is he?”
“He’ll be at the airport tonight. We can all go pick him up together.”
“Yay!” Michael cheered, spinning around in circles.
Teresa smiled, feeling so happy just seeing her son’s joy. She hoped moments like this could last a little longer.
By six o’clock that evening, with still two hours to go, Mike just couldn’t wait anymore and kept begging to go to the airport.
That afternoon, Felix suddenly spiked a low fever again. Teresa called Donald, and he reassured her it was nothing serious–just something normal, and asked her to keep an eye on Felix.
Teresa turned to Benny. “How about you take Mike to the airport to pick him up? I have to stay home and look after Felix.”
Benny said, “Last time Jonathan left, you didn’t even get to see him off. And now that he’s coming back, you’re not going to go meet him?”
Teresa hesitated. ‘Yeah, last time I missed saying goodbye at the airport, and I haven’t even given any explanation to him‘
Benny gave Teresa a pat on the shoulder. “Hey, I told Jonathan you’d be there.”
Teresa shot him a glare. “You have way too much free time to inform him of everything.” But if I go, what if Felix’s fever comes back?‘

“Tell you what I’ll stay here with your nanny and look after Rocky–Rock. If anything comes up, I’ll get him to the hospital right away. Trust me, Rocky–Rock’s tougher than he looks.”
“Fine.” Teresa was finally convinced. She decided to go pick up Jonathan with Mike. Michael was already all dressed up, wearing a fluffy little hat and a tiny scarf.
Benny said, “Don’t be late–go on, bring him back.”
But Teresa wasn’t the only one going to pick up Jonathan. On the way, they happened to spot Gary’s car. He was also on his way to pick up Jonathan. The two cars ended up driving side by side.
Gary rolled down his window and called out, “I thought you weren’t going.”
Teresa replied, “I’m just here to keep Mike company.”
Gary smiled, and his car pulled ahead, with Teresa following behind. At a red light, Teresa glanced to the side and froze when she saw two people sitting in a café.
She had no idea why Lucas and Yalena would be having coffee together. ‘He said he was busy with filming, so why is he here with Yalena?‘
The blaring horns behind her jolted Teresa. ‘Oh right, the light was green!‘
Clenching her teeth, Teresa pulled over to the side and switched on her hazard lights. Gary spotted her getting out in his rearview mirror and quickly parked as well, following her out of his car. He walked over and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Lucas is over there. I’m going to go see what’s up. You go ahead and take Mike to the airport. I’ll be right behind you.”
