Chapter 100
“I’ll give you three million dollars a month each, and we can part ways as friends,” Roxy declared. “But if you don’t wish to make my acquaintance, then we’ll just go down together.”
Her words were firm and forceful.
Arlo, Nathan, and Oscar exchanged looks. They all felt stunned by her. Bringing their heads together, they solemnly discussed the situation in low voices.
Soon, they set aside their hostility. Chuckling, Arlo complimented Roxy, “I’ve long heard of your bold and decisive manner, Ms. Sloan. After seeing you in action today, I am now certain you live up to your reputation.
“Well, we’ll do you a favor and accept the three million dollars–and your friendship.”
If they had a choice, they didn’t want to burn their bridges with the massive Summit Group either. And after realizing that Roxy could call upon a legionnaire for help, they were even more wary of engaging Roxy in a bitter fight.
“Anna, give them the money and escort them out!” Roxy instructed.
Anna let out a quiet sigh. Even though the matter had been settled, it ended in a way that left a sour taste in the mouth. They wouldn’t have needed to buy peace with money if Ashton were here.
Just like that, they were forced to hand over nine million dollars. That was half of Summit Lounge’s profits gone. This undoubtedly dealt a major blow to the growth of the business.
Once Arlo and the others left, Roxy could at last softly exhale in relief. Regardless of everything, at least the situation had been resolved.
Now, she could focus on dealing with Evermore Club. She wasn’t going to give it even the slightest chance of surpassing Summit Lounge.
Roxy was going to prove to Ashton that even without him, she could make a success of herself. He would always be nothing more than a lowly thug, unfit to be seen in public.
There was no chance in hell that Ashton was going to take Celia’s custody away from her!
“You must be exhausted tonight, Roxy. Let’s go somewhere to unwind. I found a lovely restaurant, and I brought
a bottle of the finest wine from home,” Calvin said with a warm, gentlemanly smile.
In the past, whenever Roxy saw Calvin’s face and sophisticated bearing, she would’ve felt refreshed and uplifted by his presence. But now, it made her stomach churn a little.
Over the last two days, all of Calvin’s actions and behavior had been nothing short of a disaster. Ashton had surpassed him in every way.
“I’m not tired. You don’t need to spend all your time with me either. You can do your own thing,” Roxy said.
She was even starting to consider never seeing him again.
“You’re everything to me, Roxy. Your business is my business. How can I leave you now when you need me?” Calvin confidently declared. “I know you’re fretting over Summit Lounge, but you’ve got nothing to worry about.

“Tomorrow, I’ll pull some strings with the connections Emerson Group has. We’ll pronsors Sonimile Lounge properly, and business will surely skyrocket. Summit Lounge will crash Evermore Cimb completely
“Thank you,” Roxy said, her expression softening a little.
At the end of the day, Calvin was her first love. She could choose to only pay attention to the good parts about
him.
Just then, Anna came hurrying in, exclaiming, “I’ve got bad news, Ms. Sloan!TM
Trailing behind her was a stylishly dressed young woman carrying a guitar.
Roxy’s heart sank as she asked, “What happened?”
“Amelia Simpson, the lead singer of Starlight, has said she wants to leave Summit Lounge Anna anxiously reported.
Starlight was Summit Lounge’s biggest draw. Every day, at least a quarter of the customers came to see the band perform. Amelia, the lead singer, had a massive following Her fans were passionate and extremely loyal
It was fair to say that if Amelia left, Summit Lounge’s business would take a huge nosedive!
However, Summit Lounge had always maintained a solid business relationship with Amelia Influential companies with deep pockets had tried to poach her away before, but she always refused their offers
Roxy had made multiple attempts to raise Amelia’s cut of the profits, but she always declined that, too. She said she simply wanted to remain at Summit Lounge, and she didn’t require anything else.
“I apologize, Ms. Sloan. Starlight will be performing at Summit Lounge for the last time tonight,” Amelia said She had a resonant, magnetic voice that was easily recognizable.
“Why is that?” Roxy asked, her voice trembling
She had to bite her lip, for she was already on the verge of an emotional breakdown. She’d just spent nine million dollars to deal with a major issue, only to be confronted with an even more serious one.
Was this what Ashton meant when he said it was only the beginning of the collapse?
“Is it because of Ashton?” Roxy asked sharply.
