Clay was ecstatic! He hadn’t expected Lawrence to be this dumb. It was certainly a great surprise for him.
The Dominion Vanguard had coveted the southern region of the northern frontier all along. If he could win it from Lawrence, his reputation among the Dominion Vanguard would skyrocket. This would have a huge impact on his future leadership of the Dominion Vanguard!
“We need to watch out! It might be a trap. Why would that old geezer readily agree to hand over the southern region of the northern frontier?” Felix warned Clay in a hushed tone.
“Don’t tell me you’re worried that I can’t defeat a loser like Ashton, Mr. Aguilar!” Clay said dismissively. “No matter what kind of trap they’re trying to set up, it’s all pointless when I’m clearly more powerful!”
“You’re not wrong about that…”
“This is a once–in–a–lifetime opportunity, Mr. Aguilar! We’ve been trying to seize control of the northern frontier for over a decade now, to no avail. This is our greatest chance to get the ball rolling!”
With great confidence, he added, “I’m definitely going to win this fight! Nothing will go wrong!”
After studying Clay, Felix nodded. Considering Clay’s strength, he didn’t think there was any chance of Clay losing the fight.
“As you wish, Mr. Clarkson Senior. We’ll bet on the Primordium Pill and the southern region of the northern frontier!” Felix declared solemnly.
Lawrence was thrilled, but he hid it well. “Let’s draw up an agreement, then!”
Soon, both sides had signed a written agreement of the bet, each getting a copy of their own.
“Go on. Get into the combat arena. A duel between the younger generation of the Legion and the Dominion Vanguard will surely be entertaining to watch!” Lawrence said.
In high spirits, he instructed Kayla to push him into the arena in a wheelchair.
Soon, a crowd had gathered at the combat arena.
The eager Clay swiftly hopped into the arena and peered down at Ashton, saying, “Come and meet your doom!”
Instantly, he released the presence of an SS–ranked supreme grandmaster and stood in the arena with his hands behind his back. As long as he squashed Ashton, the Legion would dare not hold their heads up in front of him ever again!
“Can you win or not, Ashton?” Kayla asked worriedly. “If you lose the southern region, you’ll be considered the greatest sinner of the Legion!”
Ignoring Kayla, Ashton turned to Lawrence and asked, “Can I kill him?”
Neil and Kayla both immediately jolted in shock. Wasn’t Aston being a little too sure of himself?
Lawrence shook his head. “The Dominion Vanguard is still one of Casoria’s organizations. There’s no reason to create any bad blood between us. Just teach him a lesson.”
After a pause, he added slyly, “Don’t reveal your full power Clay’s a cash cow. You can easily reap some benefits from him time and time again. The Dominion Vanguard has deep pockets!”
Ashton cast a sidelong glance at Lawrence, thinking to himself that the latter had probably screwed over a lot of people in the past. That being said, he was in full agreemen on that.
He slowly ascended the steps and entered the combat arena

Kayla looked a little awkward. “Grandpa… he didn’t make an impressive entrance at all. Can he really defeat Clay? Why can’t I seem to believe it?”
“Clay?” Lawrence repeated before shaking his head and chuckling. “He simply has a flashy exterior with nothing concrete to back him up. He’s not worthy of being Ashton’s opponent!”
Meanwhile, over in the combat arena, bloodlust filled the air.
Just the sight of Ashton’s face got on Clay’s nerves. His eyes flashed coldly, and he began emanating even more of his terrifying presence, using it to pressure Ashton.
“Do you know what happens to an ant who tries to take on a giant, Ashton? In my eyes, you’re the ant!” Clay declared haughtily. “Now that you’ve gotten into the combat arena, you no longer have a chance of backing down!
“Although I promised Mr. Clarkson Senior I’ll spare your life, who knows? Maybe an accident might happen. After all, all is fair in a fight. I’m sure he’ll understand if you do end up dying at my hand!”
