Chapter 178
How dark was Calvin on the inside?
“Come on. Go to Summit Lounge with me,” Ashton said.
Sylvia’s eyes lit up. She kept her arms wrapped around him as they headed toward Summit Lounge.
When they entered, they saw that every seat was taken. The place was packed, and the venue had clearly been carefully decorated. It carried a distinctly romantic vibe.
The moment Ashton and Sylvia arrived, all eyes went to them. It was no surprise–Sylvia was stunning. The instant she appeared, the other gorgeous women present seemed to dim in comparison.
“Ashton, over here!” Renee waved at Ashton.
“Daddy!” Celia spotted Ashton and immediately sprinted toward him, leaping into his arms and hugging him tightly.
Ashton felt a warm rush in his chest as he held her in his arms.
“Ashton, you finally made it! I’ve been waiting for you!”
Calvin strutted over to Ashton, looking sharp in a tailored suit and gleaming dress shoes. He was full of swagger, and he smiled smugly.
He tugged at his tie and said, “I’m so glad you’re here tonight to witness this happy moment. Roxy will be here any minute. I’ll make you watch as I slip a diamond ring onto her finger, and you’ll see her moved to tears by happiness. You’ll watch as the woman you love most becomes my fiancee!”
Calvin was brimming with excitement. He’d been waiting for this moment, ready to prove to the world that he was better than Ashton. He could easily win over the woman Ashton longed for but couldn’t have!
“Ha! Don’t celebrate just yet, Calvin. You’ve made such a scene out of this—if Roxy turns you down in the end, how will you survive the humiliation?” Sylvia chuckled.
She and Roxy were sworn enemies, but that was also precisely why she knew the latter extremely well. Roxy was a woman with a sky–high sense of pride. Once she realized Calvin was all fluff and no substance, there was no way she’d choose to marry him.
Calvin’s expression darkened. When he saw how sultry Sylvia looked as she leaned against Ashton, he forced a confident smile and said, “I’m Roxy’s true love, and she’s been waiting for me to give her a promise this whole time. She’s been yearning for this proposal. How could she possibly refuse me?”
“Well, congratulations in advance, then. I actually hope you’ll succeed so that Roxy will stop coveting my precious Ashton,” Sylvia said with a smile.
Calvin’s brows tightened for a beat before smoothing out. He turned to Ashton with a smug grin and said, ” Watch closely, Ashton.”
Then, he leaned in and growled, “Once Roxy says yes, I’m going to savor her beautiful body and ravage her hard tonight. That’s something you’ll never experience again!”

With that, he strode to the center of the club, his heart pounding with anticipation for Roxy’s arrival.
A few minutes later, Roxy walked into Summit Lounge in a sleek business suit. In an instant, she felt the room’s attention land squarely on her.
Calvin stood opposite her, looking crisp in his suit as he held a bouquet of hundreds of roses. Nestled at the center of the flowers was a diamond ring that sparkled under the lights.
Roxy jolted.
Calvin took a deep breath and flashed a bold, confident smile. Then, he walked toward her, one step at a time. When he was close to her, he stopped and dropped to one knee.
He took the ring from the bouquet and held them both up, shouting as loudly as he could, “Roxy, marry me!”
