“If that’s the case, I’ll be going. I hope you can resolve everything smoothly.” Ashton sounded indifferent.
“Stop right there!” Roxy softened her tone. “Ashton, we don’t have to let things between us get this nasty, even if it’s just for Celia’s sake.
“As long as you turn a new leaf and stop mixing with those underground thugs, I can set aside our previous agreement. A year from now, I’ll still grant you visitation rights so you can see Celia. If you do well, you can always be her dad.”
“Don’t bother. I’m going to win our bet in a year. Just like this once–glorious Summit Lounge is collapsing, everything you have will come crashing down. You’ll be left with nothing, and I’ll take Celia away.”
Ashton’s voice was devoid of emotion as he spoke.
Anger surged back onto Roxy’s face. “I was trying to give you a chance, but if you insist on being so stubborn, then we follow the agreement as written! This time next year, you’re not seeing Celia anymore!”
“But Ms. Sloan, Summit Lounge…” Anna started anxiously.
“Shut the place down.” Roxy closed her eyes, reluctant but resolute. “We need to cut our losses. I can afford to lose this round.”
She composed herself. When she opened her eyes again, her confidence was back. “Summit Lounge is only a small part of Summit Group, Ashton. Even without it, my wealth is still many times yours.
“My business empire won’t be affected in the slightest. Even if you run Evermore Club as well as you possibly can, there’s no way you can surpass my assets within a year.”
“I told you–Summit Lounge’s collapse is only the beginning. The timeline will shorten from here on out,” Ashton said as he remained calm.
Roxy fixed her gaze on him and enunciated, “Fine. We’ll see what happens!”
She hugged Celia tighter. “Anna, starting today, Summit Lounge ceases all operations. Dismiss all staff, and… transfer the ownership.”
The moment she finished, she felt deflated. Summit Lounge was the first club she’d ever run, so she had deep feelings for it. She never imagined that it would one day fall like this, and so quickly that she didn’t even have time to react.
“Roxy, why not transfer Summit Lounge to me? I promise I’ll offer a high price.” Sylvia giggled and stepped forward.
“As long as your offer is high enough, you can have it.”
Roxy had always been rational. She knew offloading Summit Lounge and getting a good price wouldn’t be easy. Selling it to Evermore Club would undoubtedly be the best choice.
Still, she couldn’t help feeling a little sore about it.
“Don’t worry, Roxy. I’ll give you a price you can’t refuse. After all, this was the first club you and Ashton ran

together. Since you don’t care about it, I’ll cherish it on your behalf.”
Sylvia’s eyes gleamed with provocation as she smiled. “Remember what I said? Don’t go regening the doce you made back then.”
“I never will.”
“Good.” Sylvia laughed. “You know, after leaving you, Ashton’s been doing better and better. The one whose youth was wasted was never you–it was him. Just watch. One day, he’ll become a god who’s totally out of your league!”
