Sylvia had always felt that Ashton had gotten a raw deal. Roxy had held back the man she loved for ten whole years, and she herself had waited a full decade.
Roxy gave Sylvia a scrutinizing look. Only now did she start to wonder if Sylvia was with Ashton not to deliberately provoke her, but because she genuinely liked Ashton.
But how was that possible? Sylvia ranked alongside her as one of Javonbury’s four most beautiful women. How could she fall for a man like Ashton, who had no power and no status? It didn’t make sense.
Roxy felt intensely uncomfortable when she saw the radiance in Sylvia’s eyes. She didn’t want to argue with her anymore and turned to Renee. “Renee, we’re leaving.‘
“Okay…” Renee blinked at Ashton. “Ashton, I’ll come hang out with you when I’ve got time!”
Once Renee and the others left, Ashton had Felice and Anna sit down to discuss the specifics of acquiring Summit Lounge.
There was no question about it–once Evermore Club absorbed Summit Lounge, they’d truly establish themselves in Javonbury and grow fast. Ashton’s first battle was a resounding success.
Next, it was time to move into other sectors and start making Roxy’s business empire crumble piece by piece. Ashton asked, “What’s Summit Group’s most profitable line?”
Sylvia’s eyes lit up. After thinking for a moment, she said, “Beauty products, real estate, and media. Which one do you want to go after?”
“Let’s start with beauty. I’m going to develop a skincare product soon, and once it’s out, it’ll deal a devastating blow to Summit Beauty.”
“Really? Beauty is one of Summit Group’s cash cows. If they lose it, it’ll be like losing an arm! I can’t wait!” Sylvia looked at Ashton with pure admiration.
She never doubted whether he could do what he said. Her trust in him was absolute. To her, he was a god.
“I’m looking forward to it, too.”
Ashton had already said he would take back everything that never should have belonged to Roxy, and he meant it. This was the price Roxy had to pay.
“By the way, tomorrow night is Javonbury’s annual Auric Night gala. It’s hosted by Cadence Suther, head of the Gale Assembly. Will you go with me?”
Sylvia put on her most obedient expression, then leaned in to whisper in Ashton’s ear, “If you come with me, I’ll wear a maid outfit tonight…”
Ashton swallowed hard. She knew exactly how to get to him.
“Let’s go together, then,” he said.
“You’re the best!”

She threw her arms around him, her soft body rubbing lightly against him. She was already imagining their night of passion.
Later, when night fell, Sylvia quietly slipped into Ashton’s room while Melody was asleep.
After an indescribable night, both of them felt energized. The spiritual energy flowing in Ashton grew even denser, and his Drakeborne lineage thrummed at a boil.
The following day, at the Gale Assembly, Cadence was reviewing the guest list for the Auric Night gala. “Hmm? Why does the Sloan family only have a silver invitation?”
He remembered that Ashton was the Sloan family’s son–in–law. He’d once single–handedly fought his way to the Gale Assembly and made them submit for Celia’s sake.
With that connection to Ashton, how could the Sloan family only receive a silver invitation? If this invited Ashton’s wrath, no one could bear the consequences!
After all, Ashton was now the one who truly called the shots at the Gale Assembly.
“Mr. Suther, the Sloan family has always received the silver invitation. Roxy Sloan’s Summit Group is still slightly lacking in terms of its foundation—it doesn’t yet meet the standard of a top–tier enterprise,” Millie Hohl, Cadence’s secretary, said.
