Chapter 215
Everyone was floored to see Ashton commanding Timothy, an SS–ranked expert and a legionnaire, to kneel. Surely he had lost his mind. Who did he think he was?
Robert even laughed. “Mom, Ashton really hasn’t changed at all. He still thinks he’s the king of the world without knowing his place. He’s nothing but a street punk, yet he dares to disrespect a legionnaire? He’s going to die tonight!
“He’d better get locked up for good,” Tanya cursed. “I hope he rots in prison!”
Roxy shook her head, saying, “You always overestimate yourself, Ashton, both then and now. You’re going to learn a lesson from the harshness of reality this time!”
While the others made their mocking comments, Damian noticed that Timothy looked even more hesitant and terrified. He couldn’t help urging Timothy, “Why are you hesitating, Timothy? Just take him already! Even if anything happens, the Paynes will deal with the consequences!”
Out of nowhere, Timothy slapped Damian right across the face, snarling, “You can’t handle the consequences, and neither can the Paynes!”
Timothy’s disdain for Damian had reached its limit. If not for this spoiled brat, he never would’ve provoked Ashton, the terrifying man who had the Legion’s Sigil.
“Have you lost your mind? Why did you just hit me, Timothy!”
Damian never imagined that after being humiliated by Ashton in public, he’d take another slap–this time from Timothy. It seemed that he, the most distinguished scion in Javonbury, was losing every shred of dignity he ever had. His reputation was going to be destroyed.
Ignoring Damian, Timothy fell to his knees before Ashton and said grimly, “I have committed a mistake worthy of death!”
Being the holder of the Legion’s Sigil, Ashton had every right to kill Timothy now and justify himself later.
Timothy was well and truly terrified now. He had a strong feeling that Ashton’s identity was far more horrifying than he could ever imagine.
“Timothy! What are you doing? Why are you kneeling? I’m the one who summoned you! How could you kneel in front of Ashton!”
Damian couldn’t stand the fact that Timothy had fallen to his knees. He felt as though he’d been humiliated by Ashton all over again. The amount of humiliation he’d been put through tonight trumped everything he’d ever had to endure his entire life.
But Timothy continued to ignore Damian. He even kept his head bowed, too scared to look up.
“What’s going on…”

Those who’d been mocking Ashton earlier had now broken out in a cold sweat. They couldn’t figure out what was happening.
Why was an SS–ranked expert and a legionnaire kneeling in front of Ashton?

They could hardly believe this was happening.
Meanwhile, Cadence, Louie, and the others exhaled in relief, their hearts finally settling back in place. They’d seen the flag of the Northern Troops flying over the Javonbury Southern Precinct. Ashton most definitely had an identity that they were unaware of.
At this moment, they couldn’t be more glad that they’d firmly decided to serve Ashton.
“Robert, what’s going on? Didn’t you say that little bastard was going to get captured? Didn’t you say that the Legion is extremely powerful? Didn’t you tell me that no one would dare to provoke Mr. Payne? Why is the situation turning out like this?” Tanya questioned.
When she took in Ashton’s commanding presence, the fear she felt toward him kept intensifying. She couldn’t figure out why the meek ex–son–in–law of hers, who seemed so useless in the past, had suddenly become so domineering and untouchable.
“I have no idea either, Mom!” Robert said tearfully. “Roxy! You know Ashton the best. Wasn’t he just a local thug? How could he be capable of this? I’m starting to get a little scared of him. What if he decides to take revenge on me later on? What should I do?”
