Roxy’s tone was harsh. She was thoroughly done with Ashton. Initially, she didn’t intend to sever his bond with Celia. But now, she thought doing so was the better option for Celia.

“Sure.”

“It’s a deal, then!”

Roxy swiftly pulled out a pen and a piece of paper from her handbag. She drew up an agreement and made two copies of it before signing her name to them. Ashton did likewise.

From this point onward, the two of them were truly going their separate ways.

“Roxy, don’t waste another breath on this deadbeat. Life’s short. Let’s enjoy it while we can. Come on. Let’s somewhere and celebrate!”

Calvin was practically singing with glee. He was pleased that Roxy didn’t end up giving Ashton the ten million dollars. And furthermore, he even managed to get Sylvia’s number.

He felt like the king of the world!

Roxy shot Ashton one last look before turning on her heel to leave. But at that very moment, her secretary, Anna Hart, came rushing over. Her face was covered in sweat.

“Anna? What are you doing here?”

“You weren’t answering your phone, Ms. Sloan, so I came straight over. We have a crisis situation at the company!

Roxy’s stomach dropped. “What happened?”

“Isaac Carter, the head of security, and a group of his men all handed in their resignation letters together,” Anna, a young woman dressed in a business suit, reported urgently.

The head of security was one of the most crucial figures in Summit Group. The security team handled all security matters for the company’s clubs, hotels, and even the celebrities signed to the company.

It was thanks to Isaac’s presence all these years that Roxy’s company was able to grow and flourish smoothly without encountering any major issues. His resignation would severely impact the company’s future growth!

Just then, Roxy recalled that it was Ashton who recommended Isaac to her. Isaac and his men also had close relationships with him. Could it be… that he talked them into resigning?

Keeping her cool, she asked, “What reason did they give for wanting to resign?”

Anna replied, “Mr. Carter didn’t give a concrete reason. He just said he was tired and didn’t want to do the job anymore.”

Roxy pursed her lips.

“Roxy, it’s just a bunch of people resigning. What’s the big deal?” Calvin said arrogantly. “How hard can it be to find people to replace them, especially if you’re just talking about security guards? You can hire plenty of them for a few thousand dollars a month.

“They should’ve been grateful they managed to get hired by Summit Group. How dare they walk out together? Who do they think they are?”

Frowning, Roxy patiently explained, “It’s not that simple. Isaac Carter is a B–ranked expert with a wide network of connections. He’d resolved a lot of difficult situations for us before. If he leaves with his people, the entire Summit Group could very well be thrown into upheaval.”

“Is it that serious?”

After pondering for a moment, Roxy said, “Anna, head back to the company and try to appease Mr. Carter first. I’ll discuss this matter with him personally tomorrow.”

Her plan was just to try and keep Isaac on for the time being by offering him a salary that was too good to refuse. Then, she would slowly find a suitable replacement for him.

“I’m afraid it can’t wait until tomorrow, Ms. Sloan. Mr. Carter and his men are here. It seems that they are adamant about resigning today,” Anna reported, her face pale. She watched as Isaac walked toward them with over a dozen well–trained fighters in tow.

Roxy tensed up, but she quickly put a smile on her face and approached Isaac.

However, to her anger and shock, Isaac completely ignored her, the CEO. Instead, he led his men up to Ashton and greeted him politely before saying, “We’ll go wherever you go, Mr. Gray!”
