Chapter 254
Roxy got into bed after a hot shower but couldn’t fall asleep Her mind kept replaying the images of Ashton and Sylvia being intimate. The more she tried not to think, the earer the images became.
“Why am I thinking about this…”
She rubbed her temples as the regret over divorcing Ashton bubbled to the surface again.
Just then, Calvin called. He’d been her first love, but she only realized upon thinking about him that his face had grown fuzzy in her memory.
After a pause, she answered, her voice cool. “What is it?”
“Roxy, you finally picked up!” Calvin’s voice carried a pleading note. “Can you give me another chance, please? You’re my first love, and I’m yours. We’re the prince and princess–together, we’re a fairy tale come true. Can we try this again? I came back to the country to marry you and give you a home. I’m back to make you happy!”
Roxy wasn’t moved in the slightest as she listened to his confession. Instead, she felt a deep, visceral disgust. She didn’t even know why she felt that way.
She said calmly, “Calvin, don’t push me. Let’s just be friends from now on. I’m not considering romance right now. Also… don’t contact me if it’s not about something important.”
With that, she shattered the last of Calvin’s hope.
On the other end, his face contorted with rage, but he kept his tone gentle. “I understand now, Roxy. I know there’s no chance of anything between us. I’m planning to go abroad the day after tomorrow–there’s nothing and no one here worth staying for.”
“You’re leaving the country?” Roxy was taken aback.
“Yeah. And once I leave, I don’t plan to come back. That’s why I want to invite you and Renee to a farewell dinner tomorrow, at Orchid Pavilion Manor.”
“Tomorrow?” Roxy arched a brow, remembering Ashton’s earlier warning to avoid seeing Calvin for the time being because he could be plotting against her.
“Uh–huh. Think of it as a last supper. We probably won’t see each other again after this. It’s my final wish, so you won’t refuse me, right?” Calvin still sounded like a gentleman, his voice carrying a hint of breezy nonchalance.
Roxy hesitated for a moment before agreeing. “Alright. I’ll be at Orchid Pavilion Manor tomorrow. I’ll see you off and wish you all the best.”
“Make sure to bring Renee. I’m going to miss her, too,” Calvin said.
Suspicion flickered in Roxy’s heart. Hadn’t he and Renee always clashed?
Still, she didn’t think too much of it. “I’ll bring her with me tomorrow.”
“See you then.”
When the call ended, Calvin’s lips curled into a bloodthirsty, feral grin. “Roxy Sloan, you brought this on yourself! I gave you a chance, but you remained heartless. Don’t think I don’t know you’re still hung up on Ashton. This time, I’ll have you and your sister, who’s always looked down on me. I’ll have my way with you both!”
He turned to Edmund, who was next to him with a brooding look on his face. He sneered and said, “Mr. Vance, everything’s ready on my end. Your men are solid, right? We’ll be getting the Sloan sisters and making sure Ashton dies horribly tomorrow!”

Edmund ran a hand over the wounds on his body, his eyes burning with hatred as he said icily, “Of course, Tomorrow, at Orchid Pavilion Manor, I’m going to ravage the woman Ashton loves most right in front of him. I want him to die a miserable death right then and there!”
