Ashton’s expression was ice–cold. He could disregard Roxy’s life or death, but not Renee’s. Renee was family, and she’d taken a knife for Celia. He owed her.

Roxy bit her lip at Ashton’s reprimand, unable to get a word out.

“Orchid Pavilion Resort, right? I’m on my way,” Ashton said, his voice flat and deadly.

Calvin relaxed after getting the answer he wanted. Then, he threatened, “Remember that only you can come. If you bring even one person with you, the only thing you’ll see is Roxy’s and Renee’s corpses!”

“I’ll come alone,” Ashton replied.

He grabbed his Lamborghini keys and strode out, adding, “Listen up. If anything happens to Renee–if she so much as loses a strand of hair–I’ll grind you into dust and make you regret ever being born.”

Even through the phone, the chill in his voice was enough to make Calvin and Edmund flinch, like the grim reaper himself had fixed his gaze on them.

“Don’t be so full of yourself! We’ll see how you die once you set foot in Orchid Pavilion Resort. I’ll make you watch as I humiliate the two sisters, and you won’t be able to do a thing!” Calvin hung up.

Then, he walked over to Edmund, looking uneasy. “Mr. Vance, there aren’t any issues with the guys you set up, right? Ashton does have some skills.”

“Of course. The second Ashton steps into Orchid Pavilion Resort, he’s dead meat. I’ll personally break his hands and feet to vent my rage!” Edmund snarled.

“Roxy, Ashton is coming to save us,” Renee whispered.

Roxy’s expression was frosty. When Ashton had threatened Calvin earlier, he hadn’t mentioned her at all. He didn’t care about her–he was only worried about Renee. That left a bitter taste in her mouth.

Where was the man who once loved her to the bone and was ready to sacrifice everything for her?

“He’s just coming to die. Even after all these years, bragging is all he knows.” Roxy snorted.

“You’re right about that–Ashton is coming to die, and it’ll be ugly! Once I take him down and step on his head, I’ll show you sisters what I’m really capable of!” Calvin laughed, growing excited again.

He’d dreamed of defiling Roxy right in front of Ashton. The dream was finally turning into reality that night!

Elsewhere, Eunice ordered people to track Roxy’s movements for the day. Finally, they managed to trace her to Orchid Pavilion Resort.

“Move out. We’re going to save them!” Eunice said urgently

Time ticked by.

Inside Orchid Pavilion Resort, Calvin and Edmund stared at the bank of monitors, waiting for Ashton’s arrival.

“He’s here!” Calvin suddenly said, pointing at a monitor.

On the screen, Ashton’s Lamborghini cut across the feed like a blade of light.

She had complete faith in Ashton. “You’ll never beat him!”
