Calvin flashed a cruel grin. “Your precious Ashton is about become a crippled mutt. Keep your eyes wide and watch!”

Becoming more amped up by the second, he moved to stand beside Edmund. “Mr. Vance, when do the Shadowed Nocturnals‘ assassins make their move? Ashton’s already broken in!”

“He has stepped into the killing ground,” Edmund said coldly. “Just wait. I’ve ordered the Shadowed Nocturnals‘ assassins to sever his limbs and turn him into a useless wreck. Then, I’ll drag him into this room and make him watch as his beloved woman gets toyed with. That’s the price for crossing me!”

He cracked his knuckles, his pupils dilating with excitement.

A cold wind howled outside, lifting Ashton’s hair. He darted forward, his body like a flash of lightning. His spiritual consciousness flared outward as he tried to lock onto Renee’s location. With the realm he’d reached, his spiritual consciousness was expanding wider and wider.

“Found her.” He knew Renee’s presence like the back of his hand.

He shot toward the northeast, moving so fast he was practically a blur. But just as he was about to push deeper into Orchid Pavilion Resort, several cold flashes streaked toward him like arrows aimed to kill. They struck straight toward his vital points.

“I’ve been waiting for you guys to make your move.” Ashton let out a contemptuous snort.

Black flames seemed to flicker in his pupils as he slipped clear of every strike in an instant.

“Hmm?” A voice drifted from the shadows, its owner clearly surprised Ashton had evaded such lethal attacks.

“Here’s a word of advice–don’t stop me from saving Renee. Otherwise, you’ll die!” Ashton kept moving.

He had no interest in wasting time with the assassins.

“Cocky, aren’t you? It’d do you well to remember something. There’s no one in Javonbury that the Shadowed Nocturnals can’t kill. Today, we’re taking your head!” The voice in the shadows became colder and edged with killing intent. “Get him!”

In a split second, more than a dozen assassins burst out from different angles, wielding gleaming blades. They didn’t hold back as they attacked. Every strike was meant to kill and leave Ashton dead on the spot.

“If you’re so set on dying, I’ll grant your wish.”

Ashton’s eyes glinted icily, and his blood roared like it was boiling. The savagery in his Drakeborne lineage surged out of his control!

In just a heartbeat, his vast inner energy thundered and rose like a storm. It spun into invisible, sharp weaponized energy that locked onto each of the attackers with surgical precision. Then, they blasted out with overwhelming force.

The air itself seemed to ring with the cry of blades. Space around them rippled and warped as energy spread outward in rippling waves.

The weaponized energy Ashton had formed slammed into the assassins‘ killing intent, colliding hard. They arced in gleaming crescents, making cold light scatter like sparks

The trained assassins visibly screamed almost in unison. Each of their throats bloomed a bloody hole–the weaponized energy had pierced straight through them.

The dozen assassins lost all life midair, terror frozen in their eyes as they fell to the ground, wholly and utterly
