While staring into the distance, Flint declared, “We can’t justify doing so. The Legion is right outside. Now isn’t the time to go all out against them yet. Just let him feel good about himself for now. Soon, I’ll make him pay a heavy price.”

Flames seemed to flicker deep within his eyes as he commanded, “Tell the death squad to get ready!”

“Yes, sir!”

Beneath the moonlight, Cadence, Louie, and the others waited outside Grandcrest Estate, looking quite anxious. Even when they saw Kayla coming over with the Northern Troops, they still felt uneasy.

Flint had ruled the Javonbury criminal underworld for decades now. He was a cunning man who’d never lost before. They feared that even Ashton might not be a match for the sly Flint.

Kayla was also tense. She could only try to back him up from the outside. It came down to his own strength to determine whether he could make it out of the estate alive.

Natalie snorted, figuring that Ashton was going around hitting on women again. On the other hand, Sylvia pouted, sighing to herself. While she knew there was no way he’d be loyal to a single woman, she still didn’t feel good about it.

“I have to make sure he enjoys being with me even more…” she mumbled to herself.

“Are you okay?” Kayla walked up to Ashton and asked.

“I’m fine, and I got what I wanted. The Sage will probably stop at nothing to kill me now.”

After letting go of Hazel and Rhonda, he said to Louie, “Take them to the place I prepared beforehand.”

“You got it!” Louie immediately instructed his people to take Hazel and Rhonda away.

“Just what are you up to now?” Kayla asked curiously.

“I’ll fill you in later,” Ashton replied before glancing at the night sky, recalling the murderous look in Flint’s eyes

She was starting to realize that she couldn’t figure him out anymore.

The Legion had wanted to eliminate Flint for years, but they never got the chance. Yet despite having only become the deputy leader for a short time, Ashton was already making progress on that goal?

If he really did manage to get rid of Flint, he might be able to solidify his position with the Legion after all, instead of being doubted by everyone.

“I took Flint’s lover and his daughter. They’re now my servants. Isn’t that utterly humiliating? If you were the Sage, would you allow that to happen?” Ashton asked with a chuckle.

Kayla’s eyes widened. “What did you say? You made Hazel and Rhonda your servants?”
