While taking in the ferocious expression on Flint’s face, Irina couldn’t help but marvel at what Ashton was capable of. She’d been working for Flint for over a decade now, and it was her first time seeing him lose his composure like that.

In the past, he was always hard to read, never showing his emotions to anyone. It felt as though no one could ever understand what he truly thought or felt.

But now, his murderous intent was clear as day.

After a brief hesitation, Irina said, “Ashton… seems to be trying to tame Hazel and Rhonda…”

Flint’s expression turned even darker. “Has the Legion set up an ambush outside the villa? Is Ashton provoking me on purpose, so that my people will walk into a trap and die?”

Irina shook her head. “That’s what I find strange too, sir. I sent people to inspect the area over a dozen times, and we didn’t find any sort of ambush or traps laid out. There are really only three people in the villa and not another living soul for several miles around the place.”

“Are you sure about that?” Flint questioned, looking quite taken aback himself.

“I’m absolutely certain about it, sir,” Irina replied. “There’s no mistake!”

Flint narrowed his eyes and asked, “What kind of a man do you think Ashton is, Irina?”

Startled, she reflected on everything he’d done so far before saying quietly, “I think he’s a terrifying man. It’s clear that everything he does is ultimately targeted at you, sir. I think it’s quite likely… that he wants to take your place.”

“He wants to take my place and become the ruler of Javonbury’s criminal underworld, huh? Such is the arrogance of youth. He’s an ambitious man, alright!” Flint scoffed. “Over the last few decades, countless people have tried to usurp my position, but all have died, and Ashton Gray won’t be the exception!”

His eyes flashed with hostility as he instructed, “Tell Burt to lead a 100 death squad assassins over to capture Ashton, and make sure they take him alive.

“As for you, get some people to seal off a five–mile radius from the villa. See to it that no one else enters the area!”

Irina was stunned. “Do we need Burt to do it himself? And with 100 death squad assassins, too?”

Burt Carey was a transcendent realm expert, and every assassin on the death squad was trained to kill. Not a single one of them could be considered weak by any means. A great deal of effort had gone into training them.

Both Burt and the death squad were one of Flint’s trump cards. It’d been ages since he last launched such a major attack on someone.

“Ashton is no ordinary man,” Flint said coldly. “Although I don’t know what other tricks he has up his sleeve, I’m sure he has something prepared. That’s why I need to strike a fatal blow this time. I can’t give him any more chances!”

“Understood. I’ll inform Burt right away!” Irina said.

“Hold on,” Flint said, before his tone grew even colder. “Tell Burt that if he can’t capture Ashton, or if anything unexpected happens, his job will be to kill Hazel and Rhonda. Don’t let them see the light of day again!”

Irina stiffened. She dared not look Flint in the eye as she muttered, “Yes, sir.”

Once she left, Flint took a deep breath, and his eyes became still again.

“The Drakell technique… I must get my hands on it no matter what! As long as I have it, I can reach the divine realm, become a real man, and enjoy the pleasures of being a man. I can finally… get it up!” Flint growled to himself, his eyes brimming with greed.

He didn’t care about Hazel and Rhonda. The only thing that mattered to him now was the Drakell technique.

Ashton was the opportunity he’d been waiting for.

Back at the villa, the night grew steadily darker.

Hazel was still dancing in front of Ashton. She’d already stripped to her underwear per his orders, revealing her smooth skin. Her face was flushed.

She dared not stop, not without his order. The fear she felt toward him had seeped deep into her bones.

“C–Can you stop touching me…” Rhonda whimpered, her jaw clenched.
