“Sir, this must’ve been a trap,” Irina said quietly.

Her heart was racing, and her perception of Ashton changed completely as well. He wasn’t just an arrogant and overbearing man. He had the skills to back himself up.

“Of course I know it’s a trap, but I didn’t think that even with 100 death squad assassins with him, Burt couldn’t even kill off Hazel and Rhonda! How useless! They’re all useless!” Flint roared.

Irina sighed. It’d been years since she last saw Flint lose his composure like this.

“What should we do now, sir?” she asked.

Flint’s eyes blazed murderously. But before he could speak, Ashton’s voice rang out like thunder, echoing throughout the estate. “I brought you a gift, Mr. Vance. Please come out to accept it!”

“Ashton Gray?”

Irina’s eyes widened. She didn’t expect him to be this brazen. Even after killing off so many of Flint’s men, he had the audacity to come over to Grandcrest Estate!

This was clearly an open challenge against Flint, and it came from a man who hadn’t even celebrated his 30th birthday yet.

Flint’s eyes narrowed into slits.

“Help me get out there,” he instructed coldly. “Let me have a chat with the new upstart in Javonbury.”

Amid the darkness of night, Irina supported Flint as he walked out of Grandcrest Estate. As soon as they exited the estate, however, her eyes widened.

The heads of Burt and the 100 death squad assassins were neatly arranged outside the estate, with not a single one missing. All of their heads bore shocked expressions, as if they’d witnessed something horrific just before they

died.

The ground was covered in blood.

Immediately, the atmosphere turned deadly.

After looking at Burt’s head, Flint reined in his murderous rage and questioned hoarsely, “What’s the meaning of this, Mr. Gray? Why have you come over at this hour?”

“I brought you a gift, Mr. Vance. I hope you’ll accept it.”

Standing right across from Flint, Ashton met the former’s gaze. Both their eyes crackled with hostility.

Sneering, Flint retorted, “Who would consider a bunch of decapitated heads a gift? Are you provoking me, Mr. Gray? Or do you think you can humiliate me just because I’m old?

“If you don’t give me a proper explanation for this today, I inight just have to let you leave your head here in Grandcrest Estate for good as well!”

Ashton simply smiled in the face of Flint’s commanding presence. “These men tried to ambush me today, Mr. Vance. They claimed that you sent them after me, but I’m sure someone of your position in society wouldn’t do such a shameless thing! Isn’t that right?”

At Flint’s continued silence, he continued, “How could I be merciful to these men who tried to impersonate your

subordinates? That’s why I killed them all and brought their heads to you as a gift, Mr. Vance. You should be thankful for what I did!”

Flint scoffed. “You want me to thank you?”

“That’s right,” Ashton said, not the least bit afraid.

Flint’s eyes flickered with bloodlust. He stared at Ashton for a long time before saying darkly, “In that case, you, Mr. Gray. If there’s nothing else, you may leave now.”

“There’s something else, of course,” Ashton piped up with a grin. “Hazel and Rhonda, your daughter and lover respectively, wanted me to pass along a message to you, Mr. Vance.”

“What is it?”

“They said that they’re my women from now on, so you don’t need to worry about them anymore.”

Then, eyeing Flint tauntingly, he added, “I’ll be sure to take good care of them, Mr. Vance.”
