The moment those words left Kenneth’s mouth, Sheila couldn’t stop herself from being disappointed, even though she’d mentally prepared herself for this outcome.
After this incident, she finally had a clear view of the situation. Her father had never once intended to hand Beldon Group over to her, even when it was her mother who built it from the ground up.
Back when Kenneth married Jane, he had even promised Sheila that Beldon Group would eventually go to her. However, from the looks of it now, everything he said had been a lie.
Jane let out a long breath of relief before lifting her chin and casting a triumphant glance at Ashton and Sheila. To think they wanted to steal Beldon Group from her.
How deluded of them!
Ashton’s gaze turned cold, his voice was emotionless as he said, “You’re going to take some time to consider it? That goes against the promise you made, Mr. Beldon, and you should know that no one has ever dared to back out of a promise they made to me.”
“Such insolence! How dare you speak like that, Ashton?” Bradley fumed.
He walked up to Kenneth with his chest puffed out, as if he had already been named the heir to Beldon Group.” Sheila! Look at the random guy you brought in from the streets! He doesn’t even have any respect for Dad!
“Did you bring him here just to humiliate Dad? How vicious of you. You have no conscience at all!”
Sheila looked furious. She couldn’t believe how vile Jane and Bradley were. How could they dare twist things around like that?
Still, despite trembling with rage, she didn’t know how to refute Bradley.
“Don’t worry. You’ve got your man here.”
After patting Sheila on the head, Ashton eyed Jane and Bradley coldly. Snorting, he remarked, “I guess even though you kneeled and supposedly admitted your mistake, you don’t seem to have truly learned from your lesson. It probably wasn’t punishment enough.”
Jane and Bradley both shuddered, breaking into a cold sweat when they saw Ashton’s icy gaze.
“Look at him, honey! He’s threatening me. I’m so scared… What if he hurts Bradley? The Beldon family lineage will die out!” Jane squealed.
Not wanting to waste his breath any longer, Ashton cut to the chase. “Give me an answer, Mr. Beldon. Are you signing the transfer agreement? Will Sheila be the next chairwoman of Beldon Group or not?”
The air was heavy with tension. Even Nadine couldn’t resist studying Ashton a little more closely. He’d been arrogant and overbearing from the start, as if his word was the law and couldn’t be disobeyed.
Frowning, Kenneth said, sounding somewhat conflicted, “Could you please give me a few days to think it over, Dr. Gray? This affects a lot of people. I can’t make the decision right away.”
“Nope,” Ashton denied at once. “You must come to a decision right away.”
Sighing, Kenneth suggested, “How’s this? I’ll give Shelly 20 percent of the shares and let her become a regional manager. Does that work for you, Dr. Gray?”
20 percent? That bitch sure was getting lucky!

Jane’s eyes flashed darkly, but she said nothing.
Bradley looked reluctant, too. All of Beldon Group should belong to him!
“Shelly, you won’t be able to run the company right off the bat anyway. This compromise is good for everyone, so stop making things difficult for me,” Kenneth said to Sheila, his voice laced with dissatisfaction.
Feeling hurt, Sheila pursed her lips and turned to Ashton, asking, “What should I do, babe?”
“Refuse his offer, of course!”
Sneering, Ashton said, “Everyone says a gentleman keeps his word, Mr. Beldon, but it seems like your word is no different from your farts. I’ve run out of patience. This is your last chance. Are you giving 50 percent of Beldon Group’s shares to Sheila or not?”
