The wind howled. Under the cutting cold, Eunice sprinted with a battered body and blood spilling down from her

chest.

“You can’t escape, Eunice! Be smart and give yourself up!”

“You had a death wish by daring to cause trouble at the Assassin’s Guild! Get on your knees and submit to us. Let us have our fun, and maybe we’ll spare your life!”

“She’s one of the Legion’s beauties. I wonder what she feels like!”

Six assassins fanned out and chased Eunice from different directions. The gap between them was closing

Strands of killing intent sparked violently in the air like deadly fireworks, slashing relentlessly toward Eunice. She was already grievously wounded, and her movements had become warped. Her pace clearly slowed, and she couldn’t entirely evade the icy strikes. More ghastly wounds split open across her body.

Eunice’s heart sank into despair. She had already sent out a call for help, but it was obviously too late.

That night, she’d discovered the Assassin Guild’s headquarters and had gone alone to scout. A single slip got her spotted, and she’d been running ever since. Now, she was at a dead end.

She’d wanted to earn merit too badly, so she’d overestimated her strength and underestimated the notorious Assassin Guild’s true power.

A blade of killing intent pierced through her chest and abdomen, making blood spray wildly. Eunice’s delicate figure jolted in midair for a moment before crashing to the ground with a heavy thud.

One of the assassins clicked his tongue. “What a beauty! Looks like we’re in for a treat tonight, guys. This is one of the Legion’s most beautiful women! Toying with her is going to be real fun!”

“I love that proud face of hers. I can’t wait to have her serving me on her knees!”

“Let’s break her arms and legs first so we can bind her–don’t give her the chance even to end herself. Let’s see whether anyone else dared get on the Assassin Guild’s bad side next time!”

“The Legion has always wanted to wipe us out. Did they ever stop to think whether they’re actually capable of that? It’s long past its prime! We’ll mess around with this little lady from their ranks and post her photos on the dark web. Let everyone see how this gorgeous Legionnaire ends up!”

All six assassins closed in at once, blocking every escape route as they leered at Eunice and laughed menacingly.

She turned ashen. If she fell into the hands of these vicious killers, she would suffer a fate worse than death. Her expression cooled as she prepared for the worst. She would rather die than suffer humiliation at the hands of this trash.

“Seize her and take her away!” the leader said coldly.

“I’ll strip her first. That’s where the fun starts!” One assassin stalked closer, his eyes glinting coldly.

The bad blood between the Legion and the Assassin’s Guild ran deep. They were sworn enemies with absolutely no chance of reconciliation. So, there would be no need to hold back.

In a blink, a coarse hand reached for Eunice’s collar. Her blood and energy roared within her as she braced herself to self–destruct.

At that moment between life and death, a dark figure swept in like a storm. A fist wrapped in thunderous killing intent crashed down. It was dominating, overwhelming, and shattering.

With a loud boom, the assassin about to violate Eunice exploded under that punch. He burst into a cloud of blood and dust and was completely erased.

In an instant, the air seemed to freeze. Everyone dropped into deathly silence.

Ashton stood before Eunice with his hands clasped behind his back. A haze formed with inner energy veiled his face, revealing only a pair of eyes like a bottomless abyss.
