Harry shook his head, saying, “Ms. Sloan, your concern is clouding your judgment.”

“Don’t panic, Roxy. I’m sure everything will work out. You need to calm down first,” Calvin urged.

“How am I supposed to not panic?” Roxy retorted.

“Roxy, why don’t we call Ashton? He might be able to think of something,” Renee suggested.

“That’s not happening! Who knows what kind of fuss he’ll kick up if he finds out Celia’s missing? And how can he do anything if I can’t? Stop causing more problems for me!” Roxy snapped.

Clenching her jaw, she instructed, “Robert, put up the notice at once. I’ll give 20 million to anyone who rescues Celia!”

“Roxy! Don’t act rashly…”

Calvin was alarmed. He couldn’t possibly let her spend 20 million dollars like that!

Robert was hesitant as well, but in the end, he finally nodded and said seriously, “I’ll make the arrangements to get the notice out immediately.”

Harry was frowning hard. He wanted to stop Roxy, but he knew his efforts would be in vain.

Just then, a man and a woman walked in.

“You should forget about offering a reward, Ms. Sloan. It’s no use.”

As soon as Harry saw Hector Morrison and Eunice Clark coming in, he shot to his feet and greeted them respectfully, “Captain Morrison! Captain Clark!”

“Who are you two?” Roxy questioned.

“Allow me to make the introductions, Ms. Sloan,” Harry said. “These two are Captain Hector Morrison and Captain Eunic Clark from the Legion. They were the ones sent by the higher–ups to investigate the kidnapping cases in Javonbury.”

“Do you have any news about my daughter, Celia?”

Roxy’s face lit up. She’d heard of the Legion. They were a standalone organization operating above and separate from law enforcement, with exceptional authority. Only the best and most talented were accepted into the Legion.

Eunice glanced at Roxy and was taken aback by her beauty. She explained, “Ms. Sloan, we’ve reviewed the footage of Celia’s kidnapping and can confirm that it was the work of the Wraiths, a criminal organization that targets promising children from all over the world.

“Some of these children are sent for special training, while some are given to powerful people with… perverse preferences…”

Roxy was utterly clueless.

“Calm down, Roxy. We must have faith in the authorities!” Calvin urged once more. He truly couldn’t bear to part with 20 million dollars like that.

Meanwhile, after hearing the exchange between Roxy and the two legionnaires, Renee fell into thought. Eventually, she decided to retreat to a quiet corner and call Ashton.
