Samantha couldn’t understand why Martha was so hopelessly in love with Ashton. Did he cast some kind of spell on her?

“I’ll cook for him every day if he wants! Go ahead and give it a taste, babe,” Martha said with eager anticipation.

Ashton immediately dug in, savoring every bite and clicking his tongue in approval. “This is incredible!”

Martha was overjoyed to receive a compliment from him.

“I don’t know what you ever did to deserve such treatment from Martha!” Samantha scoffed.

She couldn’t even stand the sight of him. He’d barged right into the bathroom and seen her naked, which left a nasty impression on him.

Ashton noticed Samantha’s hostility but paid it no mind.

After finishing her plate of spaghetti, Samantha set down her cutlery and asked eagerly, “Martie, you mentioned you found a way to treat my chills syndrome. What is it?”

She’d come to Martha’s house in the middle of the night for two reasons. The first was to check in on her good friend, but the second was because Martha had said she’d found a way for her to treat her chills syndrome!

Samantha had been suffering from a condition known as chills syndrome for a decade now. Every time she got her period, she’d suffer from excruciating pain. It’d also caused irregular menstrual cycles and left her feeling exhausted most of the time.

Lately, the condition had worsened. It sometimes struck even in the middle of the night, giving her a piercing pain that felt like needles stabbing every cell in her body.

She had sought the help of countless doctors and specialists, but none of their treatments had worked.

“Ashton here is the one who can treat you!” Martha proudly declared. “You probably had no idea, but he’s an incredible doctor. That’s why he could create something as effective as the Complexion Elixir.

“As long as he agrees to help you, I’m sure you’ll be cured. You won’t have to suffer from those torturous symptoms anymore, and you’ll be able to complete your filming more efficiently as well!”

“Him?” Samantha frowned, thinking that Martha was pulling her leg. “How can someone as young as him be an incredible doctor? Stop joking with me, Martie!”

“It’s not a joke. I’m telling the truth!”

Martha stared lovingly at Ashton, saying, “He’s incredible at everything!”

Rubbing her forehead, Samantha declared, “You’re beyond hope, Martha Stone! No one is as brainwashed as you when they’re in love. Oh, forget it. It’s getting late. I’m heading off now. I need to discuss my upcoming itinerary with Ms. Sloan tomorrow.”

She shook her head, her impression of Ashton worsening further. Regardless of the reason for the divorce, Ashton shouldn’t be getting himself involved with another woman so soon.

Could it be that they’d gotten a divorce because Roxy had found out that he’d been cheating on her?

“Sammy! Don’t you want to treat your chills syndrome?” Martha hurriedly called out.

Samantha sighed. “Martie, you really should learn to be a better judge of character, but it’s whatever. That’s your business. All that matters is you’re happy. I’ve got things to do, so I’m leaving.

“Let’s meet up again some other time, but when we do, I don’t want to see him around!”

With that, she grabbed her expensive handbag and started heading for the door.
