“What about my chills syndrome…” Samantha trailed off.

“I’ll look for you in two days,” Ashton calmly replied.

Tonight was his time with Martha. He wasn’t going to let an irrelevant person get in their way.

“Alright then…” Samantha had no choice but to accept that.

But moments later, she nervously asked, “Hey, if I sign a contract with Evermore Media, you won’t expect me to satisfy you, right? I have a boyfriend…”

She figured this had to be clarified beforehand. After all, Ashton seemed like a complete womanizer to her. Surely he was trying to sleep with her!

Martha pursed her lips. “Jay Millburn, that boyfriend of yours, isn’t a good guy. You’re still so devoted to him even though it’s clearly one–sided. How many rumors with other women has he been in ever since you said you’d only sleep with him after marriage?

“Ashton is a pretty decent man, you know. If you became his lover, it’d be far better than being with Jay.”

Samantha frowned, looking visibly displeased.

“I won’t expect you to sleep with me. You think too highly of yourself,” Ashton said curtly. “I don’t like forcing anyone into anything.”

Samantha secretly exhaled in relief, but she was still a little worried. “In that case, can you sign Jay as well?”

“Jay?”

“He’s that celebrity who’s been super popular lately but hasn’t been in anything noteworthy,” Martha helpfully supplied.

Giggling, Martha shifted and wrapped her arms around Ashton, her smile bright. “Are you really not interested in Samantha at all, babe? I can promise you that she’s still a virgin, you know.

“She’s quite a conservative person. If you like her, I can help you get her. Samantha and I will have one more thing in common then. If we team up, we might even get to defeat Sylvia…”

“I’m not interested in her,” Ashton said, shaking his head.

While Samantha did manage to get a reaction from the Drakell technique, he was put off by her arrogance. He could always reconsider it if she ever willingly offered herself up to him.

Martha clung to Ashton and talked for a long time, eventually falling sound asleep, the blissful smile never leaving her face.

The next morning, she woke up bright and early. Staring affectionately at Ashton, she said with a pout, “I think Sylvia should be marching over soon, babe. Why don’t we have another go while we still can?”
