Just as Damian finished speaking, a blur flashed before his eyes.
In the blink of an eye, Ashton appeared right in front of him. He raised his arm, spread his fingers, and slapped Damian hard across the face.
The smack rang out crisp and loud, shocking everyone present.
Plenty of people at the Curios Chamber’s auction recognized Damian, the most distinguished scion in Javonbury. And yet, the golden boy had just been slapped in public.
“Who’s that? He’s out of his mind!”
“No clue. I heard he didn’t even have an invitation and tried to force his way in!”
“What? That’s suicide. And now, he’s striking a guest invited by the Curios Chamber? Guess he thinks he’s
immortal.”
“You really see all sorts of people everywhere!”
A chorus of whispers buzzed in Damian’s ear. But no matter what was said, all he heard was mockery.
The humiliation made his eyes bloodshot. This was the second time now!
“Ashton Gray! How dare you hit me!” Damian roared. “I’m the Curios Chamber’s platinum–tier guest! I’ll demand they hand you over to me so I can-”
Before he could finish, Ashton raised a hand again. He ignored Damian’s feeble guard and slapped him once more. “Looks like you forgot my warning, Mr. Payne. I told you to stop provoking me. Seems the lesson I gave you last time didn’t sink in.”
His gaze turned cold. He’d never taken spoiled heirs like Damian seriously. As for the consequences, he hadn’t thought about them at all. He didn’t need to.
“You’re hopeless, Ashton!” Eunice scowled. Fuming, she pulled Roxy aside. “No one can save you today! Roxy, thank goodness you divorced him. Otherwise, he would’ve dragged you down with him sooner or later!”
A chilly wind seemed to howl as 12 of the Curios Chamber’s experts surged out in a blink, surrounding Ashton. Their eyes were icy, and their killing intent tangible.
All 12 were martial arts grandmasters! That alone spoke volumes about the Curios Chamber’s power.
“Mr. Walker, you’ve got to help me with this!” Damian flinched at Ashton’s words. A deadly chill shot up his spine; he didn’t dare meet Ashton’s eyes. Instead, he turned to Samuel, nearly in tears.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Payne. This man dies today. If you’re interested, once he’s dead, I’ll have the body delivered to you,” Samuel said coolly.
It had been a while since the Curios Chamber laid down the law. Someone finally had the nerve to challenge them!
“Perfect! I’ll have him drawn and quartered!” Damian’s face twisted with rage. His hatred for Ashton had

reached a breaking point.
“Seize him. No need to keep him alive!” Samuel gave the order. He didn’t care who Ashton was or what background he had. This was what he would get for crossing the Curios Chamber!
“What’s going on here? Why the commotion?” Suddenly, a clear female voice rang out.
A woman in a violet dress stepped forward, tall and lush with effortless allure. Her crystal heels clicked under her feet, and a faint, elegant fragrance drifted from her as she walked. She carried an unmistakable air of command.
