Chapter 483
Wanda, the head of the Curios Chamber in Javonbury, had arrived.
She had such a domineering presence that the majority of the crowd found themselves unable to meet her gaze, save for a brave few. She was the embodiment of power, radiating the absolute authority that came with being the head of the Curios Chamber.
“How beautiful! How did Wanda become even more enchanting? She’s like a fine wine–perfectly matured and at her absolute peak!”
“Who, in the end, would be capable of claiming such a peerless, heaven–defying beauty?”
“You can forget about it! You ought to know that the Curios Chamber is a force to be reckoned with, and Wanda’s position as its head proves that she is a woman of formidable talent. It’s also rumored that she comes from a very influential family with an exceptional background.”
“Ashton is a dead man walking now that Wanda’s involved!”
“That madman will inevitably be struck down by fate!”
Upon seeing Wanda, Samuel hurried over and explained with a respectful bow, “That man attempted to enter the Curios Chamber’s auction house without an invitation, Ms. Shepherd. He has committed aggravated assault against our security and our platinum–tier guest, Mr. Payne.
“That man’s actions constitute a serious offense, so I’m having him apprehended at once!”
“You have to seek justice for me, Ms. Shepherd! Ashton’s actions didn’t just disgrace me! He disgraced the Curios Chamber as well!” Damian exclaimed.
He approached Wanda, bold enough only to steal a fleeting glance from the corner of his eye at the devastatingly enchanting woman. He felt a flicker of desire surging within him before he forcibly reined
them in.
Wanda cast a brief look at Damian before turning her gaze to Ashton. A wave of bashfulness washed over her, making her pulse quicken and her body sway ever so slightly.
She couldn’t fathom why she had actually listened to Ashton’s suggestion and worn the purple form–fitting dress. Did it actually make her more captivating? She had also been held up for quite some time because of this change of clothes.
Ashton turned his gaze toward Wanda, noting how the purple form–fitting dress clung to her every curve, accentuating her graceful silhouette in a way that was nothing short of intoxicating.
That slight, knowing smile lent her an irresistible allure. When combined with the sheer power of her position at the Curios Chamber, she possessed a radiance that left Eunice and Roxy looking like mere afterthoughts.
“That woman actually went along with my suggestion, huh? That said, that shade of purple suits her perfectly!” Ashton thought to himself.
He then chuckled lightly at Wanda, asking, “Is this really how the Curios Chamber treats its guests, Wanda?

Those present immediately picked up on Ashton addressing Wanda on a first–name basis, all widening their eyes in surprise and wearing expressions of utter disbelief.
“How could Ashton be so audacious? He actually dared to act so close to Wanda, the head of the Curios Chamber!”
“Is there a possibility that Wanda and Ashton are acquainted? It would explain why he’s acting so fearless in front of her.”
“How could that be possible?”
Eunice scoffed. “He’s such a lecher, actually daring to speak so rudely to such a beautiful woman at a moment like this! He’ll be dead before he even realizes his mistake!”
Roxy’s expression hardened as she noticed something unsettling in the way Wanda was looking at Ashton. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread stirring within her at that moment.
In that instant, before anyone had a chance to respond, Wanda’s face fell. She raised her hand and slapped Samuel hard across the face, knocking him clean off his feet.
Samuel was launched off his feet with a sickening thud. He crashed into the floor, his face already beginning to swell into a grotesque mask as Wanda’s fingerprints were imprinted into his flesh, turning bright red.
That blow left everyone dumbfounded. What on earth was happening here?
Samuel was left utterly bewildered, his mind a foggy mess of pain and confusion. He scrambled to his feet, cradling his throbbing cheek as he kept his gaze fixed firmly on the floor.
He didn’t dare to show even a hint of resentment as he asked with utmost deference, “What have I done to deserve this, Ms. Shepherd?”
