Chapter 484
Wanda scoffed. “You actually have the nerve to ask that, huh? Is this the hospitality you show to an honored guest of the Curios Chamber? Get lost!”
“Got it, Ms. Shepherd!”
In that instant, the 12 formidable experts encircling Ashton stepped back without any hesitation.
Samuel’s heart skipped a beat as he murmured, “H–How could he be an honored guest? He doesn’t even possess an invitation to the Curios Chamber-”
Wanda struck Samuel hard across the face again before bellowing, “Why would someone as good–looking as my brother require an invitation? Ashton may move freely throughout the Curios Chamber! Got it?”
How could Ashton be Wanda’s brother when one was a Gray and the other a Shepherd? There had never been any public record or even a rumor of Wanda having a younger brother.
Wanda asked with a smile, “Do you have an issue with how Ashton is like a brother to me?”
“O–Of course not!” Samuel replied, his face a mask of pure, unadulterated terror. He was screaming internally, cursing Damian’s very existence, as Damian had almost cost him everything.
“It’s my fault for not recognizing your greatness earlier, Mr. Gray, so I hope you won’t hold it against me. Your word is my command here at the Curios Chamber, and I shall serve you with the utmost devotion!”
Samuel’s demeanor shifted instantly as he bowed repeatedly to Ashton.
Ashton nodded, showing no intention of holding anything against Samuel.
“You look even more beautiful tonight, Wanda,” Ashton said as his gaze lingered on Wanda’s flawless facial
features.
That, paired with her effortless grace, was an intoxicating combination that could set any man’s mind racing with forbidden thoughts. He could feel his Drakell technique surging within him, responding to Wanda’s allure.
“I can’t tell what kind of constitution Wanda possesses. It seems like I must obtain the Compendium of Special Constitutions to find out more,” Ashton murmured to himself.
“How beautiful exactly? Have I become more beautiful than your ex–wife?” Wanda asked, her lips curving into a radiant, teasing smile as she cut a pointed glance toward Roxy out of the corner of her eye.
It was clear that the intelligence division of the Curios Chamber was terrifyingly efficient.
They provided every piece of information about Ashton at Wanda’s command, even right down to his private divorce settlement with Roxy. They were still technically in the cooling–off period, keeping the divorce a tightly guarded secret–or so they thought.
“Of course,” Ashton replied, showing no sign of embarrassment or nervousness.
“That silver tongue of yours must be a lethal weapon with the ladies! You should come along and follow me inside since the auction is about to start.
“You see, that Compendium of Special Constitutions that you’re after is on the list. It’s a one–time

consumable, so once you infuse it with your spirit consciousness, all of its information will enter your Sea of Consciousness. I hear that there are several powerful factions here tonight that are dead set on claiming
it!”
Wanda’s gaze at Ashton was unmistakably different from the rest–her eyes betrayed a sense of agitation and desire, a look only women could fully grasp.
Ashton and Wanda walked shoulder to shoulder, but as they moved past Eunice and Roxy, Wanda suddenly stopped dead in her tracks, turning a gaze full of mocking fascination toward Roxy.
Roxy felt Wanda’s scrutinizing gaze and was extremely uncomfortable. She, however, still kept her head high and returned Wanda’s gaze without avoiding it.
“She’s indeed a knockout, but she’s unfortunately lacking in intelligence…” Wanda murmured.
“What did you just say, Ms. Shepherd?” Roxy asked, maintaining a polite smile on her face.
