Eunice stomped her foot, fuming. “How does he have such ridiculous luck with women? He even got Wanda, the head of the Curios Chamber in Javonbury, acting all cozy with him! That whole ‘brother and sister‘ act is honestly so revolting! Ashton is definitely a womanizing scumbag!

“You shouldn’t let this get to you, Roxy. You did the right thing in divorcing Ashton! He’s completely unworthy of you!”

“That’s right, Roxy!” Damian exclaimed, finally snapping out of his daze. He stared in the direction Wanda and Ashton had gone, realizing that he had taken those two slaps for absolutely nothing. He had even made a fool out of himself again.

“If it weren’t for Wanda shielding him, I would have torn Ashton apart, Roxy! He’s nothing but a sugar baby, a pretty face who knows how to charm his way into power. How the hell did he get into Wanda’s good graces?” Damian’s expression was filled with envy, jealousy, and resentment.

He was the most distinguished scion in Javonbury, yet he couldn’t even get a glance from Wanda. He couldn’t understand how a divorced man like Ashton had managed it.

Roxy, with a heavy heart, shook her head, forcing herself to push the intrusive thoughts away. She then stated calmly, “It’s time for us to head in. I’m only here for the Rejuvenation Pill, so I couldn’t care less about Ashton’s personal entanglements.”

“That’s right! Mrs. Sloan’s stomach disorder will be under control with the Rejuvenation Pill!” Eunice exclaimed, nodding firmly.

She, however, unconsciously found herself comparing Ashton’s silhouette to that of the Grim Reaper she revered. She always found the resemblance uncanny whenever she looked at him from behind as if they were the same person. She hurriedly dismissed the thought, thinking that it was impossible.

“I think we should head in now. I’m certain that even if Ashton has Wanda backing him, the auction organized by the Curios Chamber will still operate on its own rules. I’ll outbid him on every single item until he’s left utterly empty–handed by the end of the night!” Damian growled, clenching his fists.

They then walked into the Curios Chamber Auction House, which was already packed with guests. They noted that every attendee was seated in a private booth and tended by personal staff, making the entire establishment exude an air of absolute refinement and luxury.

“It must be because of Wanda! I’ll report her to the Curios Chamber for abusing her authority!” Damian fumed, as his suite was located just in the middle tier.

Eunice, however, was filled with doubt. She knew that, according to the regulations of the Curios Chamber, the top ten suites were reserved exclusively for guests who had passed the Curios Chamber’s own certification process.

They followed a strict set of internal protocols for this, and even someone in Wanda’s position should not have had the power to bypass them.

“Isn’t that Ashton right there?”

It was then that a new cry of disbelief erupted as Clay, the future head of the Dominion Vanguard, spotted the occupant of the neighboring suite.
