“I’m fine with anything, so just tell me when,” Ashton replied, his curiosity piquing after hearing Wanda’s description of Faye, the most beautiful woman in Javonbury. He couldn’t help but wonder what kind of woman could be so stunning that even Wanda admitted defeat in the looks department.
Wanda said with a smile, “I’ll be in touch with you when the time comes. You ought to remember to use that Obsidian Draconic Card I gave you, Ashton. It grants you the highest VIP status at any of the Curios Chamber’s businesses. You’ll have an unlimited line of credit, and you’ll never have to worry about the bill.”
Ashton nodded in assent. “If you ever find yourself in a bind you can’t get out of, Wanda, just let me know. I’ll be there.”
Wanda’s face lit up with a breathtaking smile. “I’ll hold you to that, Ashton! You’ve already seen all of me, so you’d better be prepared to take responsibility for that!”
Having said that, Wanda turned and walked away, her slender body swaying with a natural, hypnotic grace. She had a smile on her face, realizing that she was becoming increasingly intrigued by someone like Ashton.
“I never thought that Wanda’s Celestial Resonance constitution could be so impressive. If only I could get my hands on it…” Ashton stared at Wanda’s elegant silhouette in that form–fitting dress, his imagination running wild with improper thoughts.
He chuckled to himself as he stood up. He was suddenly eager to get back to Lakeview Heights. He needed to find out what kind of special constitution Sylvia–that temptress–possessed and if she had what it took to become a cultivator. He was determined not to let Roxy overshadow her.
Ashton had barely stepped out of the Curios Chamber Auction House when Clay and Felix intercepted him.
Clay glared at Ashton’s smug, defiant expression, his gaze growing frigid. He presented a formal life–or–death match letter and said, “I’d like to challenge you to a life–or–death duel in three days! You in, or are you a coward, Ashton?”
That life–or–death letter was stained with vivid, crimson blood, radiating a chilling intent to kill.
Ashton made no move to take the letter. He simply shook his head and said, “I’ll have to pass on that; I have no intention of wasting my time fighting losers I’ve already beaten. I just don’t think you’re worthy of it!”
Having said that, Ashton turned and walked away.
Clay, with his bloodshot eyes, roared, “What’s the matter, Ashton? Are you afraid of dyi.. my hands? You should grovel on the floor and beg for mercy if you’re that terrified! I’ll let you walk away with your life if you bang your head against the floor three times!”
“You actually think I’d be afraid of you, huh? You’re not even worth my fear!” Ashton sneered.
“You should take the damn letter then! Your fate is to die by my hand!” Clay barked.
Ashton gave the delusional Clay a sidelong glance before he scoffed and said, “If I took every challenge from every nobody that crossed my path, I’d be busy for the rest of my life. It’s not entirely impossible if you truly
insist on a life–or–death duel with me…”
Ashton flashed a cunning grin, eyeing Clay like a prize lamb ready for slaughter. “You should put something

worth my time on the table–a top–grade Primordium Pill, a top–tier cultivation technique, or even a world- class beauty.
“I’m not wasting my time with trash like you if you can’t offer anything tempting, so get out of my way!”
Clay’s eyes burned with a murderous rage that could no longer be contained as Ashton repeatedly branded him a loser and a piece of trash. He would have lunged at Ashton already if they hadn’t been standing right outside the Curios Chamber.
“You’ll fight me, one way or another. Your life is forfeit, and I won’t stop until I’ve wiped out this shame with your life’s blood, Ashton!”
Clay threw out one last threat and walked off with Felix.
