Chapter 510
“It’s just…” Anna trailed off hesitatingly.

Roxy declared, “It’s a done deal, Anna. Ashton has beaten me in this round, so we should just move on to the next round. I don’t believe for a second that my losing streak will last, nor do I believe Ashton has what it takes to destroy a huge company like Summit Group.”
Anna let out a weary sigh, noting the fatigue written all over Roxy’s features. “Is it truly necessary for this to be a fight until the bitter end, Ms. Sloan? You don’t have to be enemies with Mr. Gray just because the marriage is over. “I’m sure Mr. Gray wouldn’t be so relentless if you were willing to apologize to him, Ms. Sloan.”
Roxy raised her gaze to meet Anna’s, her voice dropping to a somber tone while asking, “Are you telling me that you think I’m to blame for this, too, Anna?”
“I–I…” Anna stammered, completely at a loss for how to respond.
“You can blame me, then!” Roxy exclaimed, while a shimmering, ethereal white light began to glow around her as she activated the Detachment Technique.
She then stated with ironclad conviction, “I’ll never acknowledge it, though! I’ll never let Ashton ruin me or force me to submit! I’ll let him see who truly stands in the right with the final outcome! I’ll never lose to him!”
Anna sighed inwardly, knowing Roxy’s stubbornness far too well.
Roxy held her chin high, proud and unyielding. “You should take care of Summit Media first. I’ll shift my focus back to our main operations–once we land a few major real estate projects, Summit Group will reach new heights!”
In the meantime, Samantha, in her apartment, also saw the exposés about Jay amid a barrage of message notifications. She felt her stomach twisting in revulsion as she read about his illegal gambling, drug involvement, and exploitation of fans.
She was repulsed to the core, knowing that she had once thought about being with a piece of human garbage like
him.
She suddenly felt a surge of relief. She felt incredibly lucky to have seen Jay’s true colors in time, and even more fortunate that she had transferred from Summit Media to Evermore Media. Otherwise, this wave of exposés would have been a total catastrophe for her as well.
“Ashton actually saved me again,” Samantha murmured. She had previously been unwilling to join Evermore Media, agreeing only because of the chills syndrome. She now felt nothing but profound gratitude for her luck.
She also couldn’t help but blush as she recalled the memory of yesterday’s charged encounter with Ashton.
It was then that someone suddenly threw the door open. Jay stormed in, fixing his feral and terrifying gaze on
Samantha.
“You have to believe me, Sammy! I never did any of those things reported in the news–those exposés are lies! I know nothing happened between you and Ashton, so let’s just start over! I love you so much, Sammy!”
He lunged forward after saying that, attempting to wrap his arms around Samantha against her will.
Samantha recoiled in fear, retreating step after step while yelling, “What the hell do you think you’re doing, Jay?

You and I have already broken up! You’d better get out of here right now!”
“I’ll leave at once if you give me a large sum of money, Sammy–you can think of it as doing me a favor. I still have debts to pay, and now that my scandals are out, I won’t be able to stay in the entertainment industry
anymore.
“I only have you to help me now. I swear I’ll leave and never bother you again after you give me the money, Sammy!” Jay pleaded desperately.
“I don’t have any money! I’m warning you–you’d better leave this instant, or I’ll call the cops!” Samantha looked at the distorted, hideous face before her and finally saw Jay’s true nature.
