“You fucking bitch! Why are you turning your back on me, too? You’ll be going down with me, too, if that’s what you want! You ought to know that everything is Ashton’s doing! I’m going to have my way with you today, Samantha!” Jay snapped, throwing himself toward Samantha.

He suddenly felt a crushing force settling on his shoulders, leaving him unable to move a muscle. He glanced back in sheer terror, only to meet Ashton’s profound, soulless eyes.

He started trembling uncontrollably, stammering, “I–It’s all just a misunderstanding, Mr. Gray. I–I’ll leave this instant!”

“I warned you yesterday, but unfortunately, you didn’t take my words to heart. I’ll have to make you face the consequences if that’s the case!” Ashton glared coldly at Jay before effortlessly tossing him out of the room like trash.

He looked toward Gene, who stood outside the door, and commanded, “Get this trash sorted!”

“You can rest assured that I’ll get every last bit of use out of this pretty face, Mr. Gray! I’ve got a bunch of tough guys who love this kind!” Gene grabbed Jay and hurried away. He knew better than to stick around and play third wheel to Ashton and Samantha.

“Ashton!” Samantha, frightened by the ordeal, threw her arms around Ashton. Her frayed nerves gradually eased as she felt the warmth of his chest.

She hurriedly pulled away after calming down, her cheeks blushing deeply. She couldn’t believe she had taken the initiative to hug Ashton. She suddenly realized that Ashton had somehow taken up a very significant place in

her heart.

“You’re safe now,” Ashton said, gently holding Samantha in his arms.

Samantha gazed at Ashton, her heart racing uncontrollably.

Ashton gazed at Samantha’s captivating face and said softly, “I’ll assign someone to protect you from now on, and if you ever need anything, you can come directly to me. I’ll also grant you S–tier resources in Evermore Media and give you total autonomy, so you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do.”

Samantha’s heart skipped a beat, her cheeks blushing deeply as she felt herself slowly succumbing to her feelings.

“I’ll come by in a few days to perform your acupuncture treatment; for now, get some rest,” Ashton said, reaching out to dotingly pinch Samantha’s supple cheek.

Samantha surprisingly didn’t pull away this time. She instead kept her head lowered slightly as an inexplicable heat began to spread through her entire body.

Ashton made no further move. He was well aware that to win over Samantha, who possessed the Aether constitution, he needed more than just a fleeting moment. He wondered if, by the time he performed her next acupuncture treatment, he could have Samantha willingly give herself to him.

He then smiled faintly. He had known all along that a desperate, cornered Jay would come looking for Samantha. Coming to her rescue now was a calculated move, one guaranteed to send ripples through Samantha’s heart.

“I’m truly getting better and better at understanding women…” Ashton mused, a smirk spreading across his face as he walked away.

He was determined to have Samantha, thinking that there was no reason not to claim her since she was a stunning beauty with the Aether constitution. He felt that he was the one worthy of keeping such a magnificent woman for himself.

He gave no further thought to Summit Media’s affairs after he left Samantha’s apartment. He knew that Sylvia would handle everything that came next perfectly, after all.

“I should head to Blossom Hall to find out what constitutions Elise and Whitney possess then!” Ashton thought, an uncontrollable agitation surging through him.

He felt that his desires had distinctly intensified ever since awakening the Drakeborne lineage and cultivating the Drakell technique, as though a primal, carnal heat was clawing at his insides, refusing to be extinguished no matter what he did.

Ashton arrived at Blossom Hall in no time.

“Ashton!” Robert called out and walked over, his arm draped around a provocatively dressed woman. His gaze on Ashton dripped with reverence.

He finally understood that his former brother–in–law was no “loser” after everything that had happened recently–he was actually a titan who had merely been trapped within the Sloan family.
