Chapter 518

In that instant, a collective shiver ran through the women of the Blossom Hall. They averted their eyes, casting their gazes downward as her crushing pressure filled the room, leaving them trembling in a state of sheer panic.
“Oh?” Elise’s eyes widened in genuine shock, as she hadn’t anticipated such raw power from Roxy. It was no wonder Ashton had fallen for her so hard back then–she was clearly cut from a different cloth.
Elise’s competitiveness flared at that thought. She advanced toward Roxy and said deliberately, “I’m actually going to do it then; after all, I’m quite curious to see how you’ll make good on that threat, Ms. Sloan!”
She then turned to her people and ordered, “Get Robert’s hands and feet and make sure Ms. Sloan doesn’t miss a single moment!”
Roxy, with a frigid glint in her eyes, darted toward Robert, intending to take him away forcibly.
She had already reached a certain level of strength after a period of cultivation; the Detachment Technique surged to life while her inner energy circulated within her. She moved with a haunting grace, her flickering shadow resembling a gust of wind–unbound and impossible to catch.
“That’s so fast!” Whitney’s jaw dropped in astonishment as she watched the blur of motion from the upper floor.
Ashton’s hand wandered over Whitney’s graceful, curvaceous body as he narrowed his eyes slightly. “Roxy’s cultivation is progressing rather quickly. Is this the talent of someone who has awakened the Primordial Innate constitution?”
He felt the Drakell technique within him surging uncontrollably again, as if it were reminding him that he had to claim Roxy and her Primordial Innate constitution.
He knew that once he claimed her, his Drakeborne lineage would finally reach its zenith, achieving a sublime and terrifying harmony with her Primordial Innate constitution.
In the blink of an eye, just as Roxy reached Robert’s side, Elise appeared in time to block her path. Their competing energies collided and coiled around one another, igniting bursts of ethereal sparks in the air and making the atmosphere turn even more biting and cold.
There was a loud explosion as Elise’s inner energy surged outward, sending out a shockwave of sheer force that knocked Roxy back.
She then let out a derisive scoff and asked, “Haven’t you overestimated yourself, Ms. Sloan? Do you honestly think your measly cultivation is enough to pull a stunt like this in Blossom Hall?
“You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if you truly possess the strength for such arrogance!”
Elise wasted no time in humiliating Roxy. After all, this was the woman who had divorced Ashton. She thought that any chance to put Roxy in her place or crush her pride was an opportunity she intended to milk for all it was worth.
“I think we should just get out of here, Roxy! I mean, Robert really does deserve what’s coming to him for what he did!” Damian leaned in close to Roxy and warned her, terrified she might infuriate Elise.

Robert exploded in a fit of rage after hearing that. “You’re an absolute scumbag, Damian! You’d better stay away from Roxy! You think a coward like you has what it takes to become my brother–in–law, huh? You can dream on!
He seemed to recall something at the mention of “brother–in–law.” He looked excitedly at Elise and declared eagerly, “Ashton Gray is my brother–in–law, Ms. Haywood! Have you heard of him before?”
Damian’s expression instantly hardened before snapping, “Is this really the time to bring up Ashton? I mean, what could a nobody like Ashton do if someone like me couldn’t even sway Ms. Haywood? I bet Ms. Haywood has never even heard of Ashton. You ought to stop making a fool of yourself, Robert!”
Roxy remained silent as a realization began to sink in. She couldn’t help but recall how, in the past, whenever Robert got into trouble, Ashton would always be the one to clean up the mess. She suddenly felt utterly helpless and pathetic now that Ashton was gone.
“You mean you actually know the incredibly handsome and legendary Mr. Gray?” Elise exclaimed in surprise as she put on a slightly over–the–top expression. She completely dropped her cold, domineering facade and adopted a sweet, almost feminine flirtatiousness that felt utterly out of place.
