Raven was soon completely engulfed by the dark flames of Sovereign Flame. He was reduced to ashes, howling in anguish until the very last moment.
At the same time, Ashton’s eyes flashed. No matter how fast Void was, Ashton was able to lock in on him. He raised his left arm, and a black streak of light shot out, crushing Void’s force before piercing straight through his forehead.
Blood mingled with the rain in a hauntingly captivating manner.
Void’s body collapsed into a pool of blood, the rain soaking into his clothes as his life came to an end.
Ashton clenched his fist and called out, “Lightning Bolt!”
His fist slammed head–on into Crag’s mighty punch, the collision sending shockwaves rippling through the air. The ground
caved in beneath them.
Despair soon flooded Crag’s eyes. The bones in his fingers shattered, and blood poured out of his entire arm, which fell limp. Ashton had destroyed it completely.
Yet, Ashton’s punch hadn’t stopped. It slammed right into Crag’s head, smashing it open. Even more blood fell with the rain.
Just like that, 20 assassins from the Shadow Blade had all been wiped out. They didn’t even manage to keep Ashton occupied for
ten minutes.
The deadly array trapping Ashton naturally dissipated.
Ashton turned his gaze toward the direction of the Apex Arena and sneered. “It’s finally time for the show to begin. This time, I’ll be sure to make an even bigger killing.”
Wild ferocity and bloodlust surged through his eyes as he formed an even more flawless plan.
If it worked, he would get to profit even more off the Dominion Vanguard, and the Legion would be raking in a massive fortune.
Instead of rushing to the arena, Ashton sat down cross–legged and calmly brought himself back to peak form.
At the same time, he deliberately drained the color from his face, smeared himself with even more blood, and made himself look utterly exhausted–like someone badly wounded and barely holding on.
“This way, those idiots will be even more convinced I’m no match for Clay. Surely they’d go wild placing even more bets.”
Ashton was thrilled, his eyes glowing with visions of endless wealth.
Less than ten minutes remained until the scheduled duel, but over at the Apex Arena, there was still no sign of Ashton.
The discussions among the crowd grew even more frenzied.
“Did Ashton seriously become a deserter? What kind of trash have they been recruiting? No wonder the organization has tallen so far from grace! A group like that shouldn’t even exist. They might as well hand over the northern frontier and the commission already!”
